@@janinesmith369 I agree PetSmart does throw away food that doesn't need to be thrown away but once it is in the dumpster it shouldn't be taken out and re used if you look at my comments above there are a lot of reasons why I say that but the main is because once it's in the dumpster anything can get on them and k!ll or harm your dog. There are ways around that though if the bags are mostly closed then it should have anything harmful on it so you should be fine but if it is dumped out of the bags there is a good chance it has chemicals or other harmful things on it. Please be safe I'm not saying don't dumpster dive all I'm saying is be safe about it and don't get anything edible from any dumpsters

As a former employee of PetSmart we use chemicals to clean the kennels in the salon and dog messes on the sales floor we also through away those chemicals when they are open for to long I have seen some employees have been known to dump the chemicals on the dog food so please don't dumpster dive for dog food if it is open like this

I can tell you that I actually did dumpster dive at PetSmart for a few months before I started working there and my dog got sick so I stopped now I know why he got sick

@@Glittersno7 we also throw away cat litter and dog fur to there was a cat that had worms once and we had to take it to the vet. Also the groomers will pre shave some dogs that are badly matted and under the mats there can be open sores or bugs or just a bunch of dirt. If the bags are closed or mostly closed then it should be a problem but I won't dumpster dive for dog food any more

I am fairly confident he would notice cat litter/feces/pet hair and fur on pet the food he has been retrieving for many years as well as cleaning chemical containers in the dumpsters. They have many healthy, happy pets in their home.

The purple bottom to the Hamster Castle had all its tubes and pieces, however Daddy threw them aside in his eagerness to scoop up the dog food. Sometimes it needs your keen eye Mummy.

I love watching your videos, but I would have been afraid of getting that opened dog food out, especially digging down deeper and getting the food against the side of the nasty dumpster. I would really worry about bacteria that could make my dogs sick, since no one knows what has been in that dumpster before it came to this store. Also, there are chemicals, hair, and who knows what even the pet store uses that are probably in there. I noticed the deeper you dug the more "foreign looking things you scooped up in it. There are also several dog food recalls that have been going on in the last months. I would stick with just bagged up food that's not been open and would for sure check for any recalls (which I know you do) before feeding it to your dogs.

If its dumped out of the bag, i say leave it. Never know if theres a recall or even what the brand is. Dog could have an allergy to the food.
