Invest in a dash cam. Buy a capacitor type. Don't forget that CRA wants it cut since you are considered self-employed for the tax year; save 30% for deductions so you are not surprised next year. You will be taxed on total income. Your student tuition credits may bring your tax owing down a bit. Your oil change costs are high. Check with Ghanaian mechanics in the west end to sort you out for cheaper.

Take 30% of your total monthly income, put it aside in a High Interest Savings account. This is to cover for tax filing season next year for 2023. Uber driver is considered self-employed/contractor, so different tax rules apply. Each month top it up with 30% of your total income. Come tax time, pull out the amount requested by CRA and keep the interest earned. Rinse and repeat each year, till you no longer do Uber as your side-hustle.

It's necessary to go to school if you don't want to have problems with immigration and also want to have a perminant residency. The school will also give you a foothold in Canada and avoid doing the factory work for most of your life.

Let me provide you with a summary of the video content due to the language barrier. In the video, the speaker, who has been in Canada for less than a year, discussed his experience purchasing a Honda Civic through financing. He explained the three options available to acquire a car in Canada: full payment, leasing, and financing. He opted for financing. Initially, he had two car models in mind, Toyota and Honda, known for their durability. He attempted financing with Toyota but faced a challenge. They asked for an initial deposit of $2000 which he paid but they required a co-signer who must be a permanent resident or Canadian citizen with a good credit score. This proved difficult to find. Subsequently, he approached Honda with a better understanding of what to expect. Honda asked for an initial deposit and down payment of $5000. Unlike Toyota, they did not require a co-signer. Instead, they requested his driver's license, void check (containing account details for direct debits), two pay stubs, study permit, and passport. After conducting checks, Honda approved him for a 2019 Honda Civic. Following approval, he needed to arrange insurance for the car, costing him $480. He noted that insurance costs can vary based on location, age, marital status, and having children. Busy areas tend to have higher insurance costs. He also mentioned a workaround, suggesting using the address of someone in less busy areas to reduce insurance expenses. He cited an example of a friend paying $240 monthly for insurance. He then discussed the eligibility criteria for using your car for Uber. In the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), cars should not be older than 7 years, while in other provinces or cities, they may allow cars up to 10 or even 17 years old. You can use your car for either Uber driving or Uber food delivery. With Uber food delivery, you can use car older than 17 years in GTA. The speaker, a student attending classes four times a day, noted that the Canadian schooling system is demanding so he prefers not to work on the days he attend classes. As a result, he only works on weekends, Friday to Sunday. He found Uber driving preferable to warehouse work due to its flexibility, enabling him to cover his expenses and car payments. He also explained that you can return the car if you're unable to make payments or no longer wish to continue. The car dealership will assess for damages, deduct the costs from your down payment, and refund the remaining balance. Additionally, he mentioned that there are banks in Canada that offer financial assistance for students, allowing them to pay their tuition in installments. That sums up the key points from the video. I hope this provides you with a clear understanding.
