Is the deposit amount fixed or it can be vary.

It varies. It depends on your capability to deposit. You can deposit 500 minimum and 150000 maximum in one year . No bounds . You can deposit few hundreds in one month or few thousand.

1.5 lakh before 5th of April every year gives you interest of 10,969 whereas 12500 per month gives you only 5768, in this way u can earn 5201 more money by depositing ur contribution before 5th April every yr and depositing 150000 all at once
