hi There, can u make a tutorial for a disaster related for example if earthquake happened in particular area, the purpose is to locate what is the impact in certain radius, impacted place could be ( houses, hospital, etc, with longlat info ) and also the distance from the earthquake ground zero, tks

This is incredibly helpful. I was able to get the closestDistance to work, but if I want to have a measure that indicated which station is closest for each row of "My Location", how do I do that? I have tried to do a calculate, perform the Haversine equation again, but I must be making a mistake. Appreciate any help.

I was wondering whether it is possible to indicate the barycentre of some latitudes and longitudes on a map on power bi. Barycentre point is the average latitude and longitude of points selected. For example, if deliveries are made on point A,B,C. The barycentre would be the point in the middle of these points. But if a new delivery is made on a point D, then the barycentre would adjust. I don't think it is possible to add a measure in the map visual. Is there a way to do this? Another idea was to adjust the barycentre point with regards to the weight of the deliveries made to each point. The heavy the weight to a point, the closer it would be to it.

@@CurbalEN Thanks!!! It's a life saver because my management lately wants heat maps of sales. By the way, I also could try to make the locations more accurate by combining [ city address, postal code, country ] columns. Although it is not 100% but it is somehow more accurate than just plugging in a street address in the location section.

How do you get the coordinates to begin with then? Most business may have address for their "stores" but it's not easy to find lat/long info. These days even google map is using their own geo spatial and may not provide lat/long anymore. If one has just 10 location maybe it is still possible to somehow find it one by one, but what if you have 100 or even 1000 shops with just "regular addresses"?

This approach where you insert your locations in a fixed table rendered in power query is not very flexible. There's a more dynamic approach where this table cam be done via DAx where you can dynamically select "customer location" and modify all distances measuring against the selected location
@CurbalEN4 ай бұрын
The idea is to get the location from another source into power bi, not hardcode it, but yes, you can also select customer location with DAX.

This was a interview question which was asked to me during an interview process. Anyone who would like to give it a try. Assignment Details: You are required to create a map view in PowerBI that will show the warehouse locations and would cover all the pin codes within a 180km radius of the warehouse. The attached sheet contains the dataset needed for this assignment. How do I solve this I am still biting my teeth?
