Thank you for watching, usually is the landlord that propose the contract, and then you have possibility to review it with a lawyer. Deposit are not defined by law, so it is negotiable.

Every local council is different (câmera municipal). You will need to check the rules in the camera of the location you want to those builds

Hi Lori, we have good experience with a company called Portugalia located in New Jersey focused in US-Portugal. We heard other people using upackweship. A warning that we have heard already horror stories with huge delays and high price and extra cost on top of the initial agreed.

When u make contracts for rentals, let's say it's a 12 months contract. Do we have to pay for the full 12 months in advance? If not, how does it work in Portugal?

Normally you would pay the deposit and the last month in the contract but in places of high demand I’ve seen tenants offering the landlord more months in advance in order to secure the rental.

@@MeetCarolas u mean if the rent is €1000, then we pay 1000 deposit + 1000 final month + 1000 first month = 3000 at first. Then every month we pay 1000 except for the last month cuz it's already paid?
