I paused the video and took time to find the pattern/solution for each of the questions in the iq test, if you don’t want to be spoiled, skip over this comment until you’ve watched through the first level. Also, long comment warning, since I go over each question individually here. Dave was right about the practice question, it was just copying what was in the top 2 rows. Same concept for the first question as the practice question, just with different colours for each row. Question 2 has a pattern of mush, SMB2, 1-up for each of the rows, with 1 object that doesn’t change added in. On 3, each box is a 90 degree clockwise rotation of the box to the left. Question 4 is similar to 3, as the question block moves counter clockwise for each box. The ice block doesn’t move for each pattern, and when the question block moves on top of it, it covers the ice block. Question 5 is arithmetic. The third box in each row is the difference between the first 2. 6 is the same idea as question 5, but with clown cars mixed in. The clown cars follow the same rules as the coins. 7 is like the opposite of 5. In each row, the third box shows which positions didn’t change between the first 2. In 8, the third box in each row shows the enemies that appear only once in the first 2 boxes. For example, in the first row the goomba appears twice, once in the first box and once in the second. Therefore, the goomba does not appear in the third box. However, the buzzy beetle isn’t seen in the second box, only in the first one. So it is included in the third box. 9 is a confusing one, but in short, it is a mix of addition and subtraction. To get the third box, you add the p blocks together and subtract the pow blocks from each other in the first 2 boxes. In the first row, 1p + 1p = 2p, and 2 pows - 1 pow = 1 pow. In the 10th question, I can’t confirm if I’m correct or not, but here’s what I think it is. First you have to find the difference between the first 2 boxes, like in question 5. Then you have to rotate the result clockwise to get the third box, like in question 3. This means the correct answer would be two coins on the right side of the box. Alright, I should probably watch the rest of the video now…

@Telruin2 жыл бұрын
For the 7th. I can defend the answer he ended up on. You rotate it 180 degrees before inverting (removing overlapping coins, and adding single coins). Edit: you rotate between all frames, making it consistent. This fits for every row and line, except you end up with the 3 coin result in the last frame. It probably would need some changes in order to just have 1 answer. (since we aren't supposed to find the pattern going back from the answer)

IQ test solutions 1: obvious 2: obvious 3: coin is moving around counter clockwise 4: ice block is moving around clockwise and hides behind the ? block, ? block doesn't move 5: top row shows original positions middle row adds new coins but if there's already a coin there they cancel out 6: same idea as 5 and there can also only be 2 clown cars per row 7: over lapping coins and empty spots have a coin in the 3rd column, spots with a single coin are left empty 8: there's always only 2 goombas, buzzy beetles and spike tops per row and there is only a koopa if it was also in column 2 9: adding the p blocks, subtracting pows 10: keep the non over lapping coins then rotate clockwise (so 3rd row should have same solution as middle row if I'm right)
@davmccar Жыл бұрын
Agree with most but my logic was different on a few even if results were same 4: ice block is moving clockwise if looking at it as 3 columns with ? block not moving, ? block is rotating counter clockwise if looked at as 3 rows with ice block not moving, ice block is behind ? block if overlapping. 5. Works if you look at it as columns or rows. 6: same as 5 but think of clown car as another coin (if there is already a clown car there they cancel out) doesn't matter if you go by column or by row the result is the same. 7. Same as 5 but then invert the result (coin becomes empty and empty becomes coin) 8. Same as 5 but using enemies instead of coins 10. Same as 5 but rotate the result clockwise. Just want to add: None of your explanations were wrong I just find it fascinating that there are multiple approaches to reach the same result and wanted to share mine!

lvl 5 it's amazing!! 2:38 you need to see if coins have contac with other coins, then the coins disapear. if is a coin is in contac with the nothing then a coin apear. if nothing is in contac with nothing, then nothing happen; example: section A1- is a coin in left up corner, nothing in right up corner, nothing in down left corner, is a coin in down right corner - section A2- is a coin in left up corner, is a coin in right up corner, nothing in left down corner, nothing in right down corner so the answer in section A3 is: A1 coin in left up corner have contac with A2 coin in left up corner so they disapear, is nothing; then in A1 up right corner is nothing in contact with A2 coin up right corner, so is a coin; then A1 in down left corner is nothing in contac with A2 nothing, so is nothing; finally A1 coin in down left corner is in contac with A2 nothing, so is a coin, and there it is A3 final answer, you can prove it in the other sections too, you need to compare section B1 and B2 to have the final answer in section B3, finally, you need to compare section C1 and C2 to have the final answer in section C3 :D, hope this help

[Only realized this was a year-old video halfway through typing all this. Someone probably beat me to it in all this time, but wanted to share anyway!] I think I got all the problems (from the first level) correct! I say "I think" because I'm not sure if my logic was the *intended* logic for each problem, even if it got the right answer every time. I'm going to be sharing my logic for 5 and onward where it gets complex - spoilers for the video, if you want to play along with DGR! 5 - It's a bit of a take-away game, which will appear in future puzzles. Look at each square as a 2 by 2 grid. If there's a coin in the same corner of the grid in the first and second columns, they "cancel out" and that coin is absent in the third; if there's a coin there in one column but not in the other, then it appears in the third. For the third row, the top left coin gets cancelled out, but top right and bottom left stay, so it's the first answer. 6 - It's an addition problem! The squares with clown cars have the coins that you're putting together to get the square with no clown car. I assumed the cancel-out rule applied here as well. Notice in the second row, the squares with the clown cars take up bottom left in one, bottom right in the other, making the square with no clown car two coins. In the third row, we have one coin bottom right and two coins on the bottom, so if the bottom right cancels out, the answer is bottom left without a clown car. 7 - This is an *opposites* game. "Add" the coins like you do in problem 5, but the third square is the *opposite* of what the answer would be there. Following 5's rules, row 1 column 3 should be top right, bottom right, bottom left. Since we're looking at the opposite, the actual result is just top left. In this case, we want answer four, because it's the opposite of what row 3 would be following problem 5's rules (top left, top right, bottom left). 8 - Now, when I played along with DGR, I had the incorrect logic. In all three rows, there's one square with just a Goomba, one with just a Buzzy Beetle, and one with both. The reason for this is, we're playing the cancel-out rules of problem 5 again, but with entities instead of coins and grid locations. For row 1: Goomba in column 1 and column 2, cancels out to no Goomba in column 3. Everything else only appears once, so it stays in column 3. In row 3, the Spike Beetle cancels out, leaving a Goomba and Buzzy Beetle (who only appear once each). I only caught the correct logic on review, so I don't know if I should give myself this one. 9 - The P-blocks are addition, and the POW-blocks are subtraction! Pretend there's a plus/subtraction symbol between columns 1 and 2, and the third column is your answer. Row one: 1 + 1 = 2 P-blocks, 2 - 1 = 1 POW-block. Row three: 1 + 2 = 3 P-blocks, 1 - 0 = 1 POW-block. 10 - Play the take-away game from problem 5, then rotate your answer 90* clockwise! I don't know if I'm right for this one because of the pipe system, though.

I can try to explain how I think the questions in the IQ level are supposed to be solved. Problem 0: This one is simple, the arrows are in a pattern of top left, top, and top right. The pattern does not change between the first two iterations, thus the third, if following the pattern, would do the same. Problem 1: The direction of the pipes in the first column are facing down with each following column rotating them clockwise, and each row having a matching color. Therefore, the bottom right pipe would have the same rotation as its column and the same color as its row, that being an upwards facing green pipe. Problem 2: This is actually the exact same problem as the previous one, just disguised with a different look. Each row contains a different stationary miscellaneous item while each column contains a different type of mushroom. The answer is once again going to contain the same item in its row and the same mushroom in its column, that being a donut block and a 1-UP mushroom respectively. Problem 3: This one is actually closer to the example problem than the first two in that there is no row/column based pattern but rather an entirely rotation-based one. With each step the coin's position is rotated 90 degrees from the center, resulting in it always ending 180 degrees from its starting position. Thus, the answer here is the coin in the bottom left corner, as it begins in the top right in its row. Problem 4: Again the exact same problem as 1 and 2, just disguised yet again. The question block is in a different position each column, sometimes obscuring the ice block, which is in a different position each row, but we know the ice block is always in the same position between rows even if the question block is in the way as it does not get erased if the question block moves over it while rotating counterclockwise by the center each step. So, we know the third row places the ice block on the top right permanently, and since the third column show the question block in the bottom left position, that should hold true as well. Problem 5: This is where the problems have to be faced as A+B=C problems rather than steps. In this case, the leftmost two columns combine to create the output on the rightmost column, and here we can see that coins cancel eachother out when their positions overlap but remain in the same position otherwise. So, if we overlap the two columns in the last row, the top left coins cancel eachother out leaving behind the top right and bottom left coins as the answer. Problem 6: Same problem with two variables. Coins in matching positions when overlaid still appear to cancel eachother out, but the same may not be able to be confirmed for clown cars- though if the pattern is to be trusted, they cancel eachother out as well. With the bottom right coins cancelling out and the two clown cars cancelling out, the bottom left coin is all that remains as the solution. Problem 7: The coins still cancel eachother out when matching their positions, however this time the solution appears to invert itself. When putting together the expected solution for the first two rows, the places where coins should be are empty and the places where there shouldn't be any have coins. Therefore with the last row presenting top left, top right, and bottom left coins combined with top left and bottom right coins resulting in the bottom left coins cancelling eachother out and every other position being a coin, inverting the answer means the bottom left position becomes the only position with a coin for this answer. Problem 8: Don't let all the chaotic movement fool you, this is the exact same problem as 5 and 6 but with multiple variables at play. When combining the first two columns, the third column contains everything from both columns except if an enemy of the same kind was in both previous boxes. The problem contains a goomba in one box and a buzzy beetle in another, and since they don't exist in both boxes at the same time they become part of the answer. However, the spike top does exist in both boxes and thus is not part of the answer, resulting in it being a goomba and buzzy beetle, nothing more. Problem 9: In this one, much like the last however this time it's clear and important, position does not matter. We can see pow blocks are the same as coins here, cancelling eachother out if one exists in both boxes. Simple math, 2-1=1, 1-1=1, and for the last one, we know 1-0=1 so the solution contains one pow block. The p-switch blocks on the other hand are additive, 1+1=2, 0+1=1, and lastly, 1+2=3. Three p-switch blocks and one pow block. Problem 10: This one tricked me at first, I thought the ones with background semisolids indicated they were the A+B and the one without was the C, but that was not right when I figured out the answer. It turns out, the coins are still acting the exact same, cancelling eachother out in matching positions and staying in otherwise, however the answer is just rotated 90 degrees clockwise, that's it. For the last problem, the bottom two sets of coins cancel out leaving only the top two, which rotate to become the rightmost two. Hope this helps anyone who may not have understood some of the answers!

The trick to most of the IQ questions you had a problem with, was getting them to even out. In each row of three when you count each of the objects there were 2 copies of each object present. So the missing tile is just whatever you need to make sure the first two sections plus the last section equal two of the objects present. On the blank P space and POW block one, the p spaces were additive. The POW was subtractive. That being said I'm not 100% sure on the last one. I THINK it was 2 on the bottom, but I'm not 100% and I don't actually own a switch or Mario Maker so I'll never know unless someone here tells me XD

…Well, got 1-4 right…and I was faster than Dave on at least the fourth…the rest?…I thought for various fairly short amounts of time, but…ain’t nobody got time fo’ dat!(I gave up) In other news, Dave named all the koopa kids correctly!! YAAAY!!!!! The two koopa kids in the fight were the oldest and…the smallest. It should be Bob-owling! 32:09 …Poor choice of quotation/words there

DGR should try the MENSA test. He would be very disappointed to see that 171 IQ on Internet means 90-100 in real life.

@@giin97 I joined Mensa years ago when I was 18. I am always O_o when someone is pretending having a 171 IQ based on an Internet test and then appears to be unable to solve a logical problem that required a 110 IQ 😝

I actually got number five if a coin is in the first box and the same place in the second box, they cancel each other out and the third box is empty in that spot Replace the coins with negative numbers and the blank space with positive numbers then multiply each space in the first square with the same space in the second square. A negative x a negative = positive or a coin and a coin = blank A positive x a positive = positive or a blank and a blank = blank A positive x a negative = negative or a blank and a coin = coin

Actually I got them all right, I did pause the video and took more time then I would have had in the level but I figured them out. Edit: Okay I got everyone but the last one. Could not figure out number 10

Got a perfect score, and for all except the very last one, it didn't even take me all that long to figure any of them out. Maybe I should consider applying for MENSA...

Trying to figure out question 4 ...... gosh, this is difficult! EDIT: I eventually decided on an answer I wasn't confident in and turned out wrong! DGR got it right, though ... Was it diagonally reflected along the three lone question-mark blocks? I was wondering if that was the solution but I just couldn't process it well enough to be sure.

Not sure if you were still curious but i found that each row had the ice block always in 1 spot and the ? block moved counter-clockwise, if they were in the same spot the ? took over the ice.

I replayed the IQ-test level and got all correct answers and 167 IQ. DGR missed a lot of XOR questions (there was also an XNOR).

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I couldn't find the level, but I followed along and paused to figure it out myself ahead of time. Thanks to you, I know how many coins the last question was worth. Also, nice job recognizing the XOR and XNOR :)

Only a 17.1 IQ could forget his own decimal. Hilarious how simple addition and subtraction patterns can confuse such an incredibly intelligent man (he said he was himself, so he clearly is!). I did miss one, to be fair.

In number 5 the last one in the row is based off the first two so when theres two coins in the same slot it disappears Number 6 is the same thing Number 7 is also the same but the second slot is inverted Number 8 is the same as 5 and 6 Number 9 is the same as 8 but the last slot moves everything to the left Number 10 is the same as 8 but the last block is turned

what happens in DGR streams, do not necessarily stays in DGR streams. Some of it ends up on youtube.
