i had to walk through flood water that I think had untreated sewerage in it, and acquired a massive foot, leg, and spinal infection (MRSA, MSSA, Diphtheria, and some disease I cannot remember the name of, but one that apparently was a big problem in the 14th Century and is extremely rare now) that left the core of my body partially paralyzed and my right leg partially paralyzed. I was admitted with a 104.4 fever, and in septic shock: I was not expected to make it out of Intensive Care; I was in it for 2 months, then released, and was back again in the hospital days later. I was in the hospital for 3 months that time, released, and 7 days later the infection roared back, and I had sepsis yet again, but this time it resulted in some brain damage (the psychiatrist called it mild, but I had that 'Jack Nicholson at the end of One Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' on my face, and couldn't carry on a conversation, or read more than a word or two before I'd get confused, and my short-term and long-term memory were both trashed - I couldn't get more than a few questions correct on a standard cognitive test. But worst of all, it was like all the idea I had in my head, all the chatter of thoughts, they were all gone - my brain was dead silent; I felt as though prior to the infection/sepsis I had a massive, beautiful warehouse that was always kept clean and in pristine condition, where all the workers wore crisp white coats with clean white hard hats and always had their safety gear on, and that was completely full -stacked to the ceiling- of wonderful things. Now it was completely empty, like everything within had been stolen, and looked as though it had sat abandoned for decades. The roof was collapsing inward, birds had made themselves a home from all the brick and metal debris where the exposed roof beams met the crumbling walls, opening the the inside of the derelict structure to the elements. There was gang graffiti everywhere, and large piles of trash because others were using the place to dump their garbage. Every now and then a mouse or rat would scamper across the floor, squeaking from its fear of being caught because it was out in the open and had no protection from predators... In the hospital I would just sit in my chair or wheelchair all day and night doing the only thing I could which was to watch videos. I could still understand that form of communication, even if I did forget what the video was about every minute or so and thus had to scroll down to look at the title to remind myself. That's when I saw one of Claire's videos (this was a while before her lung transplant) - I was in and out of the hospital for a couple of years, and was still hospitalize when she passed away. Though I had survived for a while, I was still expected to die as none of the antibiotics I had been given was working to kill the infection, and, the MRI showed the infection in my spine had actually doubled in size, and spread to my ribs, up my spine into my neck, and down my spine into my tailbone area. I used to be an investigator, and left that to become a public safety park ranger - I rescued a turtle that got caught in a tree from the flood, and this is where I had to walk through the filthy water to get him; my 'waterproof' boots had leaked, and I had a tiny cut on my right big toe. I watched Claire's videos, and took it all in - then started keeping the drapes to my hospital room window open (I was confined to my room 24/7 - I couldn't walk around anywhere because I was massively contagious; they wanted me to have as few guests as possible -and only family at that- because of the risk of exposure, and only doctors and nurses could enter my room and they were in full hazmat suits, looking like bio-astronauts), then was inspired by her to use my investigative skills to look for missing people. Since then I've located around 80 missing girls, and pushed detectives on some cold cases of unidentified bodies (helping them anyway I could), and they were able to find the names of several of those people. I still do that to this day, and try to help whomever and where I can - because of Claire. I know it sounds kinda hokey, but I always thought she was an angel in human form before she died, but now I know I was right; she's helped so, so many people. So thank you, Claire - and wear your wings proudly; you deserved them!

I wish you a happy life, not a tiring, miserable life. I advise you to read the Qur’an, especially Surat Al-Baqarah, and to continue it for 41 days. Be patient, and God will heal you, with His permission. Our Lord, and many people have gone and lived. This life is in the hands of God Almighty. You do not lose anything, so trying it is the best proof. I hope that God will heal you sooner rather than later, and I hope that you commit to it. In the name of God, and shake Islam, and I hope that when I am healed, you will preach to me, may God heal you and keep all harm away from you, my sister.❤
