please don't do that again.... we don't want you to perish in a fire for our sakes... But thank you for all that you do it is greatly appreciated. I have a chem test later today and you cleared up the confusion in my perception on how to calculate the boiling point. thank you so much Nate

How can I elevate the freezing point of water to like 10 degrees celsius?
@lilal.103710 жыл бұрын
2. For a 0.222 m aqueous solution of sucrose, C12H22O11, What is the boiling point? kb = 0.512˚C/m see like i was given this problem and i got .114 but then you add 100. so the bp is 100.114. but how come u never had to add 100?
@abby5204 жыл бұрын
He is only finding the change in the tb. If you were to do out the entire thing, you would do, the boiling point of the solvent = the normal boiling point (100C) + the change in tb which would come to 100.114. So you were correct, you just went one step further

how come i was taught that you always have to add 100 degrees to whatever your answer is?

That would be if you were asked the final boiling point. Not the change in boiling point, since the original boiling point of water is 100.
