You guys should come hunt fort Campbell KY, so many diverse areas that it’s a great learning curve jumping from fields, to hardwoods to rolling hills and swamps.

Thanks for the video, keep them coming. Only negative I have is it would be nice to see a pointer overlay to go with marked up maps you have. Here in the Lowcountry listening points are a downed log. Not much elevation changes here.

You all need to hunt Green River wma in Adair County Kentucky. I've killed some longbeards on there. There's plenty of turkeys there. I could point u out to a good spot to start at. It's an amazing public land to hunt.

I have and use on x maps myself. I sure think it would be a huge benefit if they used winter time imagery. Great app but leaf-off imagery let's you see so much more.

Adding a false color ir map would be a great addition as it allows you to see areas of thicker ground cover and soft transitions like in caltopo

Been using onx for about 2 years and couldn't imagine hunting without it. I will say you can sometimes find better imagery (more recent) in Google maps/earth, Bing, but the rest of the app is invaluable. I've even used it to map out deer drives and visually direct everyone before the drive. Super helpful. I've often wondered who at onx has access to all of our info.....sure would be nice!:) #rollinintheLTE

haha it doesn't have as many as a lot of states! It is stomping grounds to us as well. Luckily there is plenty of public land to go around. Southern Ohio is great for access to hunt/fish.

Do you guys make a living hunting or in the outdoor industry? I got to thinking about your trips. Your 6 day trips is normal to a total of my season. Give or take a couple days either way. 3 or 4 weekends.

Hey guys I love your videos! You have inspired me to hunt turkeys. Im in Nebraska and went turkey hunting for the first time in Nebraska on public land yesterday. All i was able to do is find a footprint of a turkey. Where would you recommend to hunt in Nebraska? Maybe we could do a video Colab. Im a prior Marine Veteran and maybe we could combine our skills. I live in Lincoln Nebraska. Maybe you could use me on how to hunt turkeys from a never done it point of view.

Finding tracks are a good sign! There is likely more than one turkey in that area. It'd be a good idea to get to high spot close by and listen. Try to get there just before daylight and listen on a calm day. You might be able to hear a gobbler then move in closer and setup.

Great video. I like all the info you share with us. I have used OnX for a few years and I like doing a track of where I have been and mark way points along the way. It helps to identify where you have been when you get a ridge or two away.

Took your advice and found an area on a KY wma while scouting this morning for next week's opener: run off stream, hardwoods from the ridge to part way down the slope,, cedars, and cleared area. The gobblers were busting it this morning. Now, my question is this. Where should I set up in this situation---Up toward the ridge or down in the valley? It's about 200-250 yards from ridge to the stream. Love the shows, men.

@TheHuntingPublic 6 жыл бұрын
Ed McKinney That’s a good question. Try to get above or on the same level as the birds and within 150 yards. They’ll use all of that habitat at one time or another so it’s hard to say which one will work

Good instructional video - one needs to practice with it and get some boots on the ground. I suggest going to some local state or private land that you are familiar with and practice. I always carry a compass with me and a whistle, just in case. #Kromer.
