When you find a good story to document, where do you find the budget to make the film? I'm asking on the perspective of a solo filmmaker. Having a team would be ideal but it's hard to have a team without a budget.

Is there something to be said about not being able to objectively look at your own journey? I will say that as someone who deals in a lot of high stake situations I can be very guarded as to how much I open up about my story. I would assume that the better the story, the higher the stakes; and the more guarded people become. It’s like, now there’s another set of eyes that can see the mistakes I made. What is a good way to help people relax and let that guard down?

I started a short film series highlighting the journey of my creative friends. It all started with a conversation with my brother when I realized it took him 15 years to reach his dream job then it kind of cascaded from there. My dream project is to make a documentary series showing the trials and hurdles for artists to create their dream projects or visit their dream locations.
