Great advice very sincere and friendly. However, there are people who consider the "brand" more important than the sound quality. Brand prefetence, travel practicality can be a detrimental factor too. Other than that durability can be also an issue with people who have many kids in their home. Cheers from Indonesia.

I play acoustic guitar and I want to buy a guitar that I can use on a stage in church. It has to be electric and I can spend 1000 quid. Is the Furch Millenium D19-CM-CE good for that? Do you have some advice?

Hi, watched this in "auto play". I currently felt in love for a second hand guitar at my shop, was looking for a decent gigable polyvalent electric, but the price is high regarding my current budget. But yet that neck... pure butter, have tried most of the other electric at the store, nothing close to her. I found an alternative by paying in service a part of the guitar, and providing a big discount on my service daily rate. Back home, my wife told me it's stupid to lower my rate that much for that guitar. But it all end up in one thing, I felt great about that guitar for days despite trying to convince me it's not a lucid choice, I feel great I found a way to get it without selling my soul, and since I had it home for test and bring it back to the store, I miss her and am counting the days since she'll be mine. At the end of the day, that's what is important for me, I feel great thinking I'll have it as my main electric and play it for the years to come ^^ If I had pick the more reasonable choice regarding my budget (cort g290, that's how I've found your channel tbh), I would have a taste of regret every time I pick her up...

I learned a few things. I usually just see one I like, cutaway, right color, descent action, that's it. I'll research something tirelessly and get to know it so well, by the time I go to buy it I'm a friggin expert. Not guitars, nope. Well this time I'm doing it right. It just occurred to me that the only time I research something is when I don't yet have the money for it. Hmmm

Refreshingly honest and informative videos [all if them } Richard. Helps take some of the mystique out of what guitar model works best for your playing style, how and where it will be played. Well worth watching. Some expensive, very/too finely built guitars can be an absolute nightmare...not always a good choice even with an unlimited budget.

Thanks for the great review. What would you recommend to someone with a up to $2K (or more if arm twists) for an acoustic ce? I do have a Takamine E CE which I love but I need to upgrade to something sweeter as I am moving into more of an arpeggiated folk/rhythm style. Insights welcome :)

Great video Richard. Learned a lot. I'm playing live in Australia, doing a one man band with a telecaster. I used a friends acoustic one night and got really beautiful sounds. I want to change to acoustic and love the thinner sound of the small guitar you played. Are there any guitars that you can recommend with that Fishman Matrix pickup. Thanks again That was awesome.

I do not think much did change in this last 10 years after my retirement,but Takamine(Japan) is been over and over the best sounding electroacoustic due to the patented (Maton) pick up system ,sturdy builded and price holding.The back and side being in playwood wouldn't influece the sound of a solid top as much as if the same guitar would have been with solid back and sides too (double price)the main sound and responsive difference will be surely in the top wood choices,the 2 more popolar being cedar or spruce.

Don't see what the issue is with having a budget of between £500 to £1000. Surely once you have explained the pros and cons of the guitars in that price range, shown him by way of example, the customer can then make an imformed decision based on the look , feel and sound of the guitar he prefers.

when it comes to electro acoustics Why do you need a different amp other than a electric guitar amp ? If the the acoustic is an a electro acoustic surely it can be played thro a electric guitar amp ... When the first electro acoustic was built was it ever tested thro a EGA ??? Had to have been because there was no acoustic amps ...

Thank you Richard for taking time out (i know you're a busy man) to make this very useful and informative video. It has made be realise just how vague my recent inquiry must seem to you, and may be why i haven't received the immediate answer i was expecting....mainly because you receive thousands of vague inquiries from guys wanting to "upgrade" apologies. I've learnt a lot from this video and will know how better to frame my inquiry in a more focused way in future. Rather than ask you (via email) to determine which guitar will produce the sound i have in my head! Many thanks. Liked and subscribed and will be definitely coming to S-O-A this year.

Here you go. It is the Faith FKM. Stunning little parlor guitar rguitars.co.uk/products/faith-fkm and then the Fishman Matrix is here... rguitars.co.uk/products/fishman-matrix-infinity . You simply add the 2 items to the cart and we install the pickup completely free of charge as part of the service. You will also see the price of the pickup is cheaper than even the online box shifters . I do this because I want to provide a genuine alternative to factory fitted pickups in guitars which are often the "after thought" in production because frankly it often is in peoples buying decisions too. However the Matrix is stunning quality and does justice to the value of the guitar. Hope that helps!

Main thing we want is to hear what the guitars sound like. Cos guess what, that's what guitars are for ! Play something on one. Then play same thing on other guitar into same amp straightaway with same settings. That's what really matters to any serious guitarist.

Top tip: whatever your budget, don't even think about using piezo pickups. They are disgusting.

@deldia
@deldia 6 жыл бұрын
Richards Guitars can you name a piezo solution that outputs something that sounds like how an acoustic guitar actually sounds and not...a...piezo-based electro-acoustic? I guess you could say that’s the (major) compromise you must make to avoid feedback issues playing live.
@RichardsGuitarshop
@RichardsGuitarshop 6 жыл бұрын
@@deldia Hi. Well it's a video is about choosing your perfect electro acoustic and your top tip was never a piezo based system which discounts pretty much every electro acoustic guitar I could recommend as they are all piezo driven. So I just wanted you to suggest your own alternatives otherwise viewers reading your comments will think I am misguided with my recommendations
@anthonyoliver
@anthonyoliver 5 жыл бұрын
@@RichardsGuitarshop Hi, it was interesting when you picked up the Faith parlour and suggested fitting a Fishman matrix system to electrify it for performance use - I share wikichris' dislike for piezo and was wondering if you could suggest any soundhole pickup options - I use a Fishman Neo-D in my Gretsch Jim Dandy and a Seymour Woody in my old laminate dreadnought - these are both pretty good budget options IMHO but it'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on soundhole pickups vs piezo...
