Hi my name is Roy I have a2004 Nissan central 1.8l that has a no no spark condition I have so far tried to fix it my self changing the crankshaft position sensor a nd camshaft position sensor I also replaced the fuel pump and checked the computer and there is still no spark so there's got to be a short in the wiring either by the fuel injectors or the coil plug wires any insight would help

@@rosarioinserra2599 You probably have an open circuit not a short circuit. At this point more guessing would result in more wasted time & money. Take it to a good diagnostic shop

This has to be the absolute best demonstration I've ever seen to solve an active short. Aka grounded power or vise versa on any circuit. You should be given the medal of honor alongside a title of greatest teacher of the year award. I'm 43 and have had this one problem blocking my mechanic skills keeping me held on a level of frustration that's caused several vehicles to receive body damage from my impatience. You sir have my allegence and upmost respect. I'm forever indebted to your knowledge and will seek more of your intellectually advanced demonstrations of superior mechanical abilities from this day forward with a guaranteed solution and satisfaction I've never had before. Thank you Sir for giving this wisdom to me and sharing your video with the world for others to seek if they are willing to learn how to do things themselves and not be dependent on the system in any way.

Very good lesson, thank you. One note about the use of the word “short”. In trade school 60 years ago they explained that there are three terms for electrical problems. Short, open and ground. Short- is copper to copper. Open- is copper to nothing. Ground - is copper to steel. With your situation you did not know if you had a short or grounded circuit, until you found the problem.

good to see a systematic approach. Some thing I have always done is not to use a fuse in the circuit at all. I use a headlamp bulb 55 watt or greater in place of the fuse. The bulb glows bright when high current is flowing in the circuit and dimly when low current is flowing. The load of the bulb protects the circuit. I wiggle all the wiring in the circuit first and more often than not the bulb changes how bright it is glowing when wires are wiggled near the cause of the short..

When I was an apprentice I worked with a tech who had that gauge type short finder. Once in a while, a problem car could try to ruin his day.. He had to request the tool truck salesman find that tool for him. It was found. When I saw it being used, I couldn't figure why no truck that came to us had that available. I asked one salesman toolman I knew well , why is that? He said, "so we can get you to go to more classes and buy everything else first. It's better to have all of it and the knowledge you gain. Then, once you are qualified, it's a time and trouble saver if you can get it, but you have to know and ask." He had a few cars he solved in short order, so to speak. Our boss said, hey if you do that with that tool, we don't make as much on time required to find the issue. The tech laughed and said, why do you think I still have all my hair, and you guys are pulling yours out? Hahaha.

I just bought the tool from the link provided. I've got a fuse blowing to the blower motor on a Ford van. Great video. Subscribed!

gosh, I can relate to that, our lives do change as we age. That's why I like to share what I've learned over the years. You and I started fixing cars before all the computer-assisted controls and diagnostics. All we had was our minds and what the old timers taught us. We are now the old timers and its our turn to share

I wish you would have started the car at the end. Very good information, and simply explained. Two thumbs up.

Awesome video. I haven't seen one of those short finders in years. I can remember using a heavy duty turn signal and a test light . Blast from the past. Some logical thinking.

Thank you for this video it was a huge help and a reminder to look at relays associated with mini fuses. Had the exact same problem. PCM B blown mini fuse. Fuse is associated with PCM and fuel pump relay. Removed F/Pump relay, fuse stopped blowing. Used the A/C relay for testing and C5 vette fired right up! Thank you.
