For those wondering or wishing to use a angle not included in the table, the equation to find the Factor = Units x ( 1-tan(90-Angle in degrees)). The units are basically a proportional factor. 10 units were used to make the intersection of the lines easier to find. Any Units value could have been used - the answer would be the same.

You don't know how to do it

There are many ways to layout a rolling offset, but the video was made to show a method using only 3 simple tools - a square, a pencil, and a tape measure. If you know a different or better method to accomplish the task USING THE SAME SIMPLE TOOLS, show your method. I am always open to learning something new.

You’re fired!! You took too long to bend a simple rolling offset.

I would be interested in seeing a video of your method for determining the travel length of a rolling offset given only a vertical and a horizontal distance between two pipes. Please remember that only simple tools are to be used - a square, a pencil, and a tape measure - NO calculators or cellphone apps.

@@uhpprocesspipinginc5973 I don’t need to make a video. I was joking because most employers won’t let you take time to go through long processes. I’ve been bending pipe for about 25 years, and I went through pipe bending classes. I’ve taught apprentice and even journeyman to bend conduit on all types of benders. I was trying to find a simple video to show to a guy that doesn’t know how to bend rolling offsets, but his English is limited so this wouldn’t help him. Unfortunately I can’t go show him because I’m in quarantine right now. Don’t get so mad this ain’t no competition.

@@victhelion72 The response was not made in anger. The purpose of the video was to show a quick field method where a user only needs simple tools and doesn’t need to remember the Pythagorean Theorem. There are much better videos which show conduit bending procedures once the travel dimension has been determined. Google “Polly Friendshuh” - she has a series of conduit bending videos which might be of interest to you.
