My younger sisters are going through puberty and are struggling extremely to ask my parents for help or ask some pretty personal questions. So, I decided to help them out, and noticed how much more comfortable they are to ask me these kind of stuff instead, as they feel much more relaxed around me. Now everytime they're in need they don't think twice before coming to me, and of course I will alway be there for them. So to all the older sisters/brothers out there, please make yourself available for your younger siblings if they are in the same situation as my sisters'. You have no idea how much it helps them :)

I'm 12... and my parents don't also believe me... I know they love me but sometimes it's hard to tell for sure. I have kept a lot of secrets from them I have 2 crushes which they don't know about. My cousins, friends and my siblings all know about my crush but I just sometimes... don't want to tell my parents coz on their reaction. I definitely feel like the video said. I feel awkward talking to my family about it because we are a very joking family. These vids help a lot though and I’ve learned so much from sex to periods and puberty. Disclaimer: I did tell my mom when I got my first period because I didn’t know what to do XD But like I said, I feel like since I’m not an actual teen yet, adults never take me seriously. Not to brag but I’m very advanced and straight forward with everything I say and do and I’m glad I’m like that because I have learned so much that has helped me though the years. I have always felt good about being really smart and having close friends and all of that but lately, as I go into my 5 th grade school, I get nervous because I feel like I’m going to be split from the 2 people who I love and care about. I’m also quite shy when it comes to meeting new people. I don’t really like having to go say “Hi” to a new person, it just makes me feel awkward and uncomfortable. My 2 besties that I have known and loved since the first day we all hung out with, they have helped me and talked with me about all of this stuff. And they were comfortable about it too! Idk, I’m just very shy and don’t like meeting new people, I don’t feel comfortable talking to adults about it except for my nana but it’s still awkward and she feels like I should talk about this stuff with my mom, and I’m just genuinely scared about life when my besties aren’t there to look out for me. I guess 5 th grade is my time to actually try and say “Hi” to a stranger and get myself out there so I can have some awesome new friends. (Side note, I’m a blonde and I feel like since I’m a blonde, people don’t take me seriously and they think I’m a slacker and not a hard working person which I hate having to prove to people! Just because I’m blonde society doesn’t mean I’m not smart and that doesn’t mean I like to make out with boys and I like having parties! )I don’t know if I’m quite ready for 5 th grade, but it’s coming soon so I might as well try my hardest to make some friends and lol, out for myself (not that I don’t look out for myself, I am also a pretty big loner at times and I like the peace and quiet. I’m also a HUGE bookworm, shout out if you r crazy in love with the Harry Potter series or Phantom of the Opera which is my fav book of all time, I’m also a Hufflepuff, and I’m crazy advanced in reading, not to brag, just saying. I read 2 mil words in 4 th grade so I got a medal 👍🏻) Please tell me KZbin if you have any suggestions or advice that could help my shell break open. This felt really good to type this and tell the world my story, since I can’t talk to this about anyone else. I feel ya. My parents laughed at me when I came out as asexual/aromantic a while back. A few months later, I came out more formally to my dad and got lectured for 45 minutes on how I was too young to know if I was ace/aro. I'm almost 15. I'm pretty sure I'm old enough. It went nowhere, I learned nothing, and now I'm scared to come out as nonbinary

Your parents propbably laughed because they have never heard of asexuality and therefore thought you were being absurd. Don't worry, most people don't even know that asexuality exists. But good for you that you already know yourself so well to be able to tell. Took me 28 years to understand and come to terms with who I am. When you get older and still steer away from romantic and physical relationships, maybe they will take it more seriously. Give them time to adjust to the idea.

My older brother is homophobic, my parents are homophobic, my “friends” are homophobic (I have one that’s bi, like me, but her mom’s homophobic), my Christian school is homophobic, my Christian retreat camp counselors are nearly always homophobic, *sigh* it’s hard; it really is.

One of my friends (we'll call her T) struggles from depression because of her father and his actions when she was younger, she tries to tell her mother about it but her mother doesn't understand that she it's depressed and doesn't listen the way T needs her to. T refuses to find another adult that can listen because she's convinced that it isn't a big deal and she thinks she doesn't matter and I'm scared it's getting worse, but she's set on making her mom understand, a lot of her friends claim they were hurt by uncles and fathers, like she was in her younger years, and they tell her she's a wimp and shouldn't fuss about it so much.
