The first tip wold be to really consider the impact you bring to Barcelona when coming from a country with high salaries. 700€ for a room is outrageous considering that the average salary is arround 1100€. Local people is being forced to leave in big part because the competition you bring. Be aware than in most of the "recomended" neighborhoods you will have locals struggling to pay the rent who won't be very welcoming to expats.

Hi, thank you for this video, great information!! ! Quick question - my fiancé and I are moving to Barcelona in March. I've heard Sant Antonio has potentially gotten a bit worse due to it being so close to El Raval? Do you still live in that area and/or recommend this as a top 3 location to live in?

If you live and work there for more than a year, you can't afford those flat prices - unless you are paid a cushy salary. "Normal locals" are disappearing from the city.

KZbin is really lacking “apartment hunting” videos in Europe. There are a million such videos for NYC.

I rent a part furnished 1 bed in El Raval for €750 pcm. And never had an issue in the two years I've been here. There's the odd seedy street that's easily avoided an I feel 100 times safer than in the UK. Great place for a male with a little street sense. Maybe not so much if you're a female

I bumped into this video, don’t know why. Living here for 7 years and although I don’t know nowadays how much rooms cost, I can say that renting a studio/1 bedroom apartment start at 800€. If you want something decent, and don’t have too high expectations either, I would say with 1200€ you might be able to find something. These prices will different the more you go out of Barcelona. 1hr away in Terassa or Rubi with 900€ you can find 2bedroom flat in a new or renovated building. Just a little perspective.

I agree with the neighborhoods.. where can I find 1-2 month rentals? should I book a place for 6 months? I'm sure AirBNB is probably not ideal for short term rental.

Please please please at least BARGAIN the price bc since yall digital nomads with higher salaries are coming here, no natives are able to find housing.

If I rent a whole apartment, does the agency/owner can still regulate the number of persons going to live just inside?
@christinaadavis5 ай бұрын
Yes because the people living in the apartment have to be on the lease unless previously discussed with the landlord but most don’t want you renting out rooms

I would take Sant Gervasi over Gracia and Gracia over Sant Antoni. Everything after Diagonal and closer to mountains is better.

You might want to consider as good neighborhoods some areas of Nou Barris and the whole Sant Andreu, they are well communicated like 20 min by metro to the center. Fabra i Puig, Llucmajor, Sant Andreu…😊
