I've worked various oil fields around the country beginning with Utah and as I see more 'n more of these old ghost towns it looks less 'n less "romantic" since it was all bloody hard work, away from home & family doing a dangerous dirty job most people wouldn't like doing. And in all kinds of weather too. You've given me some great ideas about destinations after I finish my '59 Willys. Stay safe out there brother! 😊
@offroad8013 ай бұрын
@allanbeamer7110 Well, I would say you've seen your share of hard work. Oil field work is everything you said about mining. So you would do fine 🙂. Awesome. I hope you get that willys done soon 🙏. Thanks for watching 👀.

Haha... Chipmunks want to be on KZbin too C&C 😁✌️ I agree Curt, miners are a special breed, a special undervalued breed!...hard and dangerous work that I can't even comprehend 🤔 I think you'd love the UK...lots of areas of historical interest, all on an island the size of a postage stamp 😄...just think of the fuel you'd save 😉 Thanks for another awesome video 🙏
@offroad8013 ай бұрын
@h.bsfaithfulservant4136 The animals always want to be on camera. They just don't like to stay still. Agreed. Being a miner would be rough 😕. And dangerous 😳 ☠️. Very little thought of safety in those days. I would love to explore the UK. Much older history, too. I'm guessing that you don't have any mountains. That would be the only problem. But it would save me on gas for sure. Thanks for watching 👀 🙂.

Next time you get to Bayhorse, you need to continue going up the road. You will be pleased. There is another big huge stamp mill way up high on top and some other buildings. And an old cemetery. Oh and some beehive kilns Alan from Idaho PS actually going to go up there in about four days 🙌🙌🙌🙌

@alanbellkey4592 Nice. Good to know. The storm pushed us out that day. Or we would have gone further. I did see some pictures online. It looks pretty cool. I will definitely have to get back there and explore the rest. Thanks, Alan. I hope you have a great trip.

The Eagle was amazing I had to laugh when you was saying about narrow road coz in England all the road in the uk are like that I was wondering how many old mining towns it must take a fair bit of research to find them another great video m8
@offroad8013 ай бұрын
@sightseeingtheuk Agreed that Eagle was awesome. And that sign went way overboard. Maybe the road got worse after the ghost town. But up until there, it was fine. I've definitely been on smaller roads. Some ghost towns are harder than others to find. But with the help of the internet it's usually not too hard. Then, the next challenge is the road. I would call this one easy access . Thanks for hanging out with us. See you on the next adventure.

The old steel gated tunnel is an old timer prospector's wishful thinking of following the mineralized hanging wall fault line (top right corner to bottom right corner of the floor), would turn into a large higher grade mineralization turning into a spread out ore body, which we can see from the filming that there is no ore body to follow, so this old exploration was abandoned years ago with the government constructing steel gates to keep the general public from becoming hurt or killed.
@offroad8013 ай бұрын
@@michaelfercik3691 That's basically what I thought. You explained it way better than I could. I find a lot of blocked off mines. Just surprised me to see one right there. So I thought I should have a look 🤔. Didn't seem very deep. Thanks for watching 👀

I visited Bayhorse in the 1950s and the last time in the 1960s. Back then, many more houses and buildings were still there and contained abandoned personal effects like china ware, silverware, kitchen tools, brass beds, furniture, clothing, etc. The saloon on the ground floor and the hotel on the upper floor still had beds, thundermugs, spitoons, etc. Stairs were going up the side of the saloon to the balcony and the upstairs hotel.
