Great information as usual. question I have. For example. That LO Houston to Laredo at $200. Obviously you can use their trailer after. But what is the normal time period a company will let you use it. 2.6,10 even 24. Or does it varies?? Cause that Houston to Laredo at $200 will only make sense if you can use their trailer for 6+ days.

The loadouts could be any length of time. Sometimes they will only give you enough time to get 1 load in and then deliver their trailer soon after. I'm on a load out now that I can use for 10 full days. I could literally take it anywhere as long as I have it delivered on that 10th day. Sometimes you pickup a loaded trailer and they'll let you use it to get a load back. Some want it back right away and some will let you work your way back. Usually, the ones that offer more money are either a trailer they want delivered quickly or a trailer that will be difficult to load.

@@semicrazy7174 you will be treated the exactly the same as company. I ran as company driver for about 2 months then they offered me the truck when I quit. Long story. I paid cash for the truck after about 2 months and got out. My opinion, you will be much much happier if you leave. Have you worked for anyone else?

Oilfield. I was running my truck every week from September until last week when I started consulting again, but oilfield is not very consistent so I’m keeping my truck as a gal back, but I want to run it when the oilfield work isn’t always there.

What is a load out?

load out is an empty trailer that a company needs to more BUT they will allow you to use it for several days.. they usually wont pay much because they are allowing you to use it,,,, they give you anywhere between 2 to 10 days use of the trailer,,, lots of times its a brand new trailer going to a customer

Rule number one - do your maintenance on your schedule not on a breakdown schedule. Maintenance in your driveway is way cheaper than maintenance on the wrecker hook. It's a simple concept - if you have a good idea that a waterpump will last 200k miles - change it at 150k you will be money ahead. The single part that will cause catastrophic failure are injectors ... so just have them rebuilt every couple of years and save yourself a piston with a hole burned in it and maybe a ruined 5k head... maintenance math is easy...

@@steadytrucker one quick question - when ur leased on to someone like F2F do they provide the one million liability insurance?? And you provide bobtail and trailer interchange?? If that is the case giving up 20% and getting dispatched - and probably a fuel card would not be that bad of a deal
