A haunting, yet fulfilling documentary. Truly is a shame that at the cost of the lives of all these women to this day still faces unnecessary violence.

The problem is the genocide against my native peoples is still in full swing, it will not stop until every last one of us is dead.... The genocide has been on going for over 156 years, which is the same age as our native trust fund, and the time spent trying to abolish our land rights given us by the king of England at the time of British colonies. Whenever any business harvests any of our natural resources ie; trees, oil, natural gas, diamonds or any minerals - they must pay a % into the native trust fund, which exceeds 167 trillion dollars a year. Never has one cent of any white tax dollars has EVER been paid towards any native in Canada. Our trust pays for our welfare, native seniors pensions, but it is first used to pay for white canadas infrastructure. When Steven harper was prime Minister he was called before the Supreme Court to answer for our genocide...he told them and I quote " without that trust fund access, there would be no Canada as you know it as it pays for EVERYTHING CANADIANS ENJOY, from schools to hospitals, medical, police, firemen, roads, and everything in between. With only 35 million citizens, not all paying taxes, just who do you think pays that bill? We boast better infrastructure than the USA, yet we have only 11 million households, open you eyes! To give control to the native people would mean the death of everything csnadians hold dear." The truth is hard to swallow...everyone who isn't native is guilty of our genocide. The propaganda wheel paints us as 'the dirty lazy Indian ' because it is easier than admitting the truth.

@@c.a.greene8395 and what should be done to remedy this
@c.a.greene83953 жыл бұрын
@@ReplyGuy22345 include reservations in the infrastructure, give the native people clean water, sewers, schools, public transit into larger cities for doctors appointments or give jobs to those who can drive and smart cars...electricity and a future. Same opportunities for every Canadian. That which we do for the newly landed immigrant we should also do for our landlord...more respect, that would be a good place for all canadians to start.

Wonder if such atrocities to women of other colonized countries are recorded, New Zealand, South America and Australia not to mention the Tropical Pacific Islands. Hmm...We as women need to speak up and support each other instead of looking away and condemning the victim as a form of jumping on the bandwagon and silently thinking one's part.

So take at least one alcoholic drug addicted native woman into your care at your home. Take her away from the predators who come from near and far to find women with their guards down low most of the time.

This is a very haunting Documentary. It is absolutely infuriating to know that this sick bastard could have, and should have been stopped a longtime ago, if it wasn't for the cops. They did not care at all about any of these women, they were viewed as Throw-Aways. And that is despicable and unforgivable. It is also so fk'ed up that Robert Pickton was the only one ever charged in this case. His brothers, and all the other people that were absolutely complicit in helping him. Even if they didn't participate in the physical killing of these women, many knew what was happening on that farm. Helping to lure them there, and not reporting and/or refusing to help the police in the investigation is just as guilty as he is. It's sick and so very sad.

imagine a white female student go missing, they would not wait a year before they started the search. Dispicable. I would like to learn more about the situation of the native people of Canada, can anyone recommend some good books or online info. I would like to know how these people ended up in what I call 'ghetto's.

@MikeGreenwood513 жыл бұрын
Generally children who are placed in foster homes are placed there from already broken homes Or broken families where divorce has occured for what ever reason or the remaining parent has opted to have the child fostered due to their inability to cope, care or look after the child. It doesn't always mean the parent/s do not love the child as it can also be an act of love due to circumstances or impossible circumstances. And yes foster parents can also be less than perfect. The idea is to give some who have not got the togetherness of family a chance to know and experience family till they are grown to adulthood. I was in care after my mother died early in life and my father closed the family door between us. Care is not so nice either some times. It is less than the ideal. But that ideal is gone. So it's a second chance. Not the best. But when the best is over then without the institution the society it self doesn't really care because most individuals are too busy with their own cares. Usally a foster child has an appointed care worker. So if the foster family is not working out then the foster child who who knows should be able to inform thir care worker(But that may not be so in all socities). Good luck.

I really believe that most of law enforcement Don.t care and will do Very little to even talk about it l would bet if the person missing was a child of a police they would have been looking the day they disappeared, it is a Disgrace to the human race that these women are ignored.

With all these missing indigenous children being found and the last comment four yrs ago. This is totally not the Canada I want to be in it was genocide and colonization and hasn't stopped. Sickens me to now find out my GGGram was interned to Kuper Island. While my Grandfather Captain James Douglas Warren was picking up body's around Vancouver Island in his St like the SSBeaver that sunk at Point in 1888. Lot of my history and culture lost here .
