Hello I was in my attic and and was looking at the gas lines I put my nose to the coupling and smelled some gas I put the soap and started bubbling. You cant smell it unless you put nose on pipe. Today is Tuesday have guy coming till Thursday afternoon. Is this dangerous to leave till Thursday? I was going to put some sealant and tape it or something. Pretty worried

It's best to shut gas off, but if it's in the attic and a small leak, I wouldn't worry too much about it

Basically someone connected a copper connector to pipe thread. No adapter was installed; major mistake. Those copper connectors are now considered hazardous too.

What type of soap is best? How much water how much soap?

Any dish soap will work. Same consistency as if you were blowing bubbles - don't overthink it. I just use regular blue Dawn - not only can it clean oily birds, it also finds gas leaks ;)

Thanks for watching. There's really not a secret formula. Just fill it with water and add about 5 or so drops of soap. Doesn't take much.

I believe all gas companies, suppliers, must respond to gas leaks ASAP. A meter can tell you if you have dangerous levels of gas in the air. Your nose nor soap and water can’t.
