We all work for the wife Scott....hahahaha🤣. I grabbed a cuticle tool at DG for $2.75 that has a modeling spoon on one end and a groover on the other end. My newest tool! If you keep your eyes open, you can find all kinds of things to enhance your leatherworking hobby. Have a great weekend!

That pattern isn't a checker, it's a lizard embossed. Most likely those were lamb/sheep/goat. Not many places to find stuff like that. Whoever you are buying from is getting it at a liquidation and turning it out cheap. Most likely those are older hides. All that is fine. But unless all you make are handbags, chrome isn't all that wonderful to stock a shed with. There is only so much you can do with it. Unless you plan on making lots of totes and chaps, most of us would much rather buy veg tan. Just really depends on the type of items you make.
