I used to collect purses like that one and then tried to make them myself not easy and then stopped. I didn't see much I was interested in though. I was surprised you don't have enough brocante items of your own to set up shop or at least furnish your home ;) I hate textured ceilings and walls but like simple ceiling roses I am surprised you didn't find one at the brocante. I am guessing you will be sanding the ceiling to take that off and the old smoke alarms. I always change them when I move and add carbon one too.

I'm looking at how low your ceiling in the hallway is, and seeing there's nothing but a walkway to a window upstairs (no doors) coming off the hall above it, and wondering if it might be worth it to take that section of hallway out and open up your entry to the second story - make it so much brighter and allow you to hang as big a chandelier as you like!
