Ustad Daman was a well-known figure in Pakistan and his poetry and teachings on Sufism were widely influential. In addition to his work as a poet and spiritual leader, he was also involved in politics and was a vocal advocate for social justice and equality. He worked closely with Mian Iftikharuddin and other progressive politicians in Lahore and played an active role in the Pakistan Movement, which sought to create an independent Muslim state in South Asia.

Your today’s clog brought to memory another VIP of Lahore and that is ~Mian Iftikhar and his family. They were very well off and owned Pakistan Times, and few others newspapers which Ayub Khan nationalised under PPL. One of his son Arif Iftikhar also contested election and was famous. After this, the family’s name was forgotten and I don’t know who is presently the flag bearer of this family.
