Finding Mast & Building Mast Step | Sail Canoe 2.0 (EP 03)

Junk pile for the aluminum mast. I found some that are 10' and 13.' Maybe outriggers or yards in addition to masts.
Am open for suggestions to improve the mast step!

This is great stuff. I hope that footer holds the mast well. Seems like there might be a lot of shear stress at the bottom, but a mechanical connection doesn’t sound like a good idea.

Yes that's exactly what I fear too. If it all crashes and burns, I'll at least try to get it on film! :)
