OPEN ME:
Hello lovely people, this video is very personal and I do cover some sensitive topics. However I've chosen to share my story as an explanation to my own family and friends, also to create a safe space for people to relate and seek advice from. I just want to shed some light and show people that we can overcome any struggle in life!
The quality is terrible and that is mainly because it's filmed on my iPhone, and because I am a total rookie and am most definitely stepping out of my comfort zone. I look forward to developing this platform and seeing what I can make of it!

I failed to mention this in the video, no I wasn't getting my period and this is because I was on the pill - skipping my periods. I'd been doing it for years, totally wouldn't recommend doing this!x

Gemma Rose I did the same thing with my birth control, because it seemed so convenient... who wants a period right?? For anyone considering it... don't do it. Not only did I not know I was pregnant... but I didn't find out until the day my son was born. I totally understand everything you said, and relate completely. I felt a lot of shame, guilt and embarrassment... I still have a hard time talking about it. I literally just woke up one day and had baby. It was terrifying... but it's a year later and he is literally my whole world. The greatest gift in the world. I agree that everything happens for a reason.

Danielle Trigueros omg That is so interesting did you not show at all? Are you larger than average or smaller? I only ask bc I couldn’t imagine someone not realizing they have a pregnant belly! So interesting to me sorry if too personal! I loved hat I didn’t know I was pregnant show makes you think and wonder !

darkfacer That was so unnecessary. So what she took birth control pills so she wouldn’t get her period. Just because you have sex doesn’t mean that’s she supports young women getting pregnant and doesn’t mean it’s wrong for young woman to have sex. I guess you just shame every woman who doesn’t stay a virgin until their married right. That’s such a bad view on things.

I used to do that too, i had endometriosis and it gave my body a break from the periods and pain. But Birth control gives copper toxicity that causes anxiety and depression issues! I wish more people knew this!

I'm a nursing student in Canada and the way they treated you is appalling. If a girl comes in with abdominal pain and she admits she is sexually active, the FIRST thing we test for is pregnancy. ESPECIALLY before prescribing antibiotics or other medications and risking harm to the fetus and it's development. I am so sorry you had to go through this the way that you did xo I haven't finished the video yet but good on you. You are obviously a very strong woman to have gone through this and come out alright. I would have gone insane :(.

Finished the video and wow. Incredibly proud of you! Be proud of yourself as well! You have come out on top. Forget the mean spirited assholes out there as they aren't important. What is important is your happiness and health. Wish I had a friend like you to be honest! You are a kind girl, that much I can tell.

Sarah Eleanor She stated in the video that she told doctors she wasn’t sexually active since she hadn’t been for about 4 months... Not really fair to knock the doctors when she told them she wasn’t being sexually active.

in my country even if you are not sexually active and you are an adult/childbearing age you will be tested for pregnancy. It's crazy for me at first when i was rushed to the hospital due to acute appendicitis and before anything else they had to sent an OB first to check me out (i keep on telling them i wasn't active). But seeing this video now made me realized how impt that was.

I just found out that I’m pregnant a couple days ago. My mom just showed me your video because she knows how alone I’m feeling right now because the dad wants nothing to do with us. And that’s really hard to even think about and I’m so scared. But your video really inspired me and made me feel like I could do this. I just want to thank you for sharing your story and not being ashamed to share it.

THIS VIDEO IS SO ME ON SO MANY LEVELS!!! Although i found out i was pregnant when i was about 12 weeks. I was single, partying ALL the time, smoking, drinking and living with my parents and i had a horrible relationship with my dad at the time. When i found out i was pregnant, it felt like my whole world come crashing down around me. I have never felt more alone and scared in my entire life. I couldn't even take care of myself let alone an innocent baby. I was so embarrassed what people would think of me. Then one day it dawned on me. This was meant to happen to me at that exact time in my life. I was going down a path of self destruction, and having my daughter changed my whole view on life and made me a better person. Not only that, she has taught me what love is, and what love means. My life has a purpose now. My life has meaning now. I am her entire world and she is mine and I could never of asked for a better gift than her life. So many things are different for me now. My mum was diagnosed with Lung cancer on my daughters first birthday. My mum is also my biggest supporter and my best friend. I honestly believe this was a sign. My daughter helped put a smile on my mums face when she was going through chemo and radiation. She gave my mum the strength to keep fighting every single day to get up out of bed when the days were too hard. Last week we found out mums cancer is a thing of the past. And as horrible of a time this was for the whole family, it brought us closer than ever and taught us that we cant take anything for granted especially not each-other. Thank you for making this video, I wish I had seen something like this when I was pregnant and struggling. And you are one tough mumma. ps sorry for the novel xx

I’m so happy to know I’m at not alone. I just recently found out I’m pregnant and I’m 22 weeks and 3 days. This will be my #2 baby. I never expected to be pregnant but when I went to the doctor he told me I was pregnant and I was 5 months. I feel blessed to be pregnant again. I’ve been feeling down lately because I didn’t know I was pregnant. But I’m just letting God take over and praying he blesses me with a healthy baby. 🙏🏻💖❤️

I had a similar experience, found out I was pregnant at 3.5 months. I had a blood test at the hospital that should have detected the pregnancy, the test was faulty. I took 3 more tests at home & the third one finally showed positive at 3.5 months lol. Now that I look back on the situation, I had a UTI for 2 months and that should have been an indicator of what was going on with my body. All the love to anyone who is going through this x

Indianna Moon I've been going through the same thing.!:O i fainted October 1st and was taken to the hospital and they said I had a UTI but I haven't been able to shake off my gut feeling that there's someone growing inside of me. I also haven't had a period since September 24th. That week was my last cycle and it was VERY light but all of the urine tests say negative. I've also had horrible nausea and weird cramps. I'm going to a clinic today to get blood drawn and hopefully be able to request an ultrasound because I need to know.!

Millee Brooks maybe someday they will make abortion legal for any reason, or for no reason, all the way up to the 40 weeks, for any reason, like it is in the United States... I mean. With partial birth abortion you can get it pulled out and instantly killed right at delivery. They puncture it's skull and swirl it's brain with sharp scissors and then deliver the dead baby.. isn't that wonderful? It doesn't have to be to save the mother's life either.. just if the mom wants it and has the money.. she gets it.

My Nan wasn’t a good position to keep my dad, he spent the first couple years of his life in and out of foster care because she didn’t always have a home, she had him young and had no support system behind her from her family so eventually she gave him up because his foster carers wanted to keep him, and after thinking about it she realised it would be the best thing for him despite how hard it was for her, so proud of my Nan for that. They met again when my dad was an adult and they love each other.

Thank you for being upfront and broaching sensitive subjects. Abortion is, of course a touchy one, but many women when they find out they have an unplanned pregnancy the thought either crosses their mind or it raised as an option by family, friends or medical professionals/counselors and its something that needs to be discussed. Its one side to being faced with a pregnancy you did not expect. Thoughts are just thoughts and we all consider doing things or taking one road or another that others might not agree with but giving thoughts/considerations to these does not make one a bad person or are anything one should feel guilty about just because they are option to be considered that others may not agree with. We are each entitled to make our own choices as long as we all accept the fact that we have to live with those choices. The thing that is interesting, hearing you talk, is that the feelings you had when you first learned you were pregnant are the real feelings almost everyone in your position is hit with and its normal when we hit a crisis in our lives to want to ;just make it all go away and forget about it'. Very often we make different choices when given time to think things through but when we hit a critical moment in our lives often there is not time to really dwell on the issue and first thoughts seem to be the way to go. Had you been earlier in pregnancy its not hard to imagine that your initial reaction of wanting to make everything go away so not to deal with it would have taken you down a different path and I think that happens in a lot of cases. There is nothing wrong in considering that. And, had the choice not been out of your hands, the fact that you would have made a different choice is also not something to feel guilty over. Often people would have made different choices in different circumstances. The fact that you might have done something different given the opportunity does not reflex on your relationship or your feelings with your child now.

I love the openness of this video. I have been judged for my opinions with parenting and pregnancy. I believe in a woman’s choice to do what she thinks is best for her, her health, and her family/baby. Whether that be abortion, adoption, or keeping it. I think it should be no ones business but the people directly involved.
@TheYasmineFlower
@TheYasmineFlower 6 жыл бұрын
I also believe in a woman's right to choose. But adoption can't be included in that, because the father also has rights the moment the child is born. And the child never gets any choice at all, which sucks for many of them once they are adults. A woman's right to choose covers abortion. Never adoption.

ally hamilton any doctor I go to and I say about being sick or something first thing they ask “could you be pregnant” And i say “there’s a small chance, but I highly doubt I am. I’m on the pill and I haven’t had sex in *however many weeks because it’s always changing lol*” and they do a urine test and that’s always been negative so they do blood tests and luckily they’ve been negative too, but that’s the first thing they make sure about. And then go from There. She had shitty doctors for sure

I just had an abortion. 8 weeks and 6 days. I was trying to prevent a baby which is why i knew immediately after that positive pregnancy test i was going to have an abortion. I made my app that same night. I was MISERABLE. Nauseas 24/7. I lost 20 pounds because i couldn’t eat from being so sick. I told myself i never wanted to be pregnant again. It’s not for everybody. Having an abortion was a decision i had to make on my own and it was a decision i don’t regret.

ellie not everyone is meant to have a baby not everyone can handle it it’s a lot of time and work it’s truly a lifetime commitment I feel bad for people who get put down about getting an abortion or for not wanting their children but I think it’s much better to not bring a child into the world that is clearly not wanted or if you can’t afford it or if you’re just not ready I’m 19 and I brought my daughter into this world this year I can say that is not easy and not everyone is meant for it I’m glad that you made the right decision for yourself maybe in the future you’ll have a change in perspective but never feel like you have to do something like bringing a child in the world if you’re not ready for it you should never be ashamed or feel guilty

Nikita Hagestad have you ever been pregnant? Have you ever had to make that sacrifice? Because I have and I don’t think she’s being selfish. Being selfish would have been bringing the baby in the world when deep down she knew she didn’t want the baby. As a mother of a 2 1/2 month old girl I can tell you it’s not for everyone and you are not one who should judge you don’t know her circumstances I spent my whole pregnancy in the hospital because of preeclampsia having seizure and miserable I know not everyone can handle it pregnancy and motherhood is not for everyone and unless you have been in her exact circumstance you don’t have any room to judge move the fuck in with your life and stop judging people you don’t know how dare you bring down another woman for a decision she has a right to make were you going to raise that child for her? Were you willing to endure all the pain that come with pregnancy? Shut the fuck up and move on get a fucking life.

Isabella Guillen the circumstances were different. I’m not some stupid teenager having sex just letting everyone cum in me and “oh wow I’m pregnant?? How did that happen”. I was on BC. We wore condoms. It was a freak accident and i became pregnant and was definitely not wanting to be. I’m sure a lot of people have been in that position but I was one of the lucky ones who had supportive friends and didn’t beat me down. Thank you for your kind words. It’s not an easy subject for people but i also don’t think it’s something that should be kept quiet. It needs to be talked about more. It’s a very different procedure and it’s very personal. But it’s safe. And effective. And i don’t believe I’m going to hell like people say. I don’t believe I’m a murderer. If anything i feel like i saved that life from being brought up in a world where no one can care for them.

Nikita Hagestad you’re fucking stupid. Do you know how broken the Forster system is a high percentage of teen homelessness is caused by the broken foster and adoption system how about we talk about that epidemic and fix that epidemic before we start adding to the issue let’s be real 83 percent of children in the system bounce from foster home to foster home until they turn 18 and then they are on their own with no family with no help why keep adding to the problem let fox it let’s make a solution before you judge people for choosing to not let their children go through that why don’t you adopt all those children if it’s that big of an issue to you

When I was 17 I got pregnant from a drunken one night stand. I freaked out. I was too scared to tell my parents and went into self destruct mode. I was drinking, smoking and doing everything I could think of to cause a miscarriage. I wasn't in a financial state to afford a baby and mentally I wasn't ready. What you said about not being able to change how you felt is very true. A few weeks after this (while in my self destruct mode) I fell off the roof of my upstairs flat (I was blind drunk), damaged my spinal cord, broke my neck, back, sternum, legs, tail bone, nose, wrist and split my skull open. I lost 80% of my blood, died a few times and while I was in an induced coma I got my wish. The unborn baby died. But now I'm a quadriplegic in a wheelchair. Life throws some shit at everyone but it's about how we handle that shit. I went skydiving last December to prove to myself and other people that I'm not scared to fall because I can pick myself up from any shit thrown my way.

As a doula I help women through inferititly and loss. I help many woman who have guilt that they had an abortion when they were in there teens. At first they feel that they just need to get it over with and be done with it. Then they realize they are not over it. There due date comes and goes. Birthdays that are not celebrated. Names are never uesd and then they marrie and start a family. If she misscarrages she feels like it was a punishment. If she has the baby she feels they should be a sibling to meet the new baby. And so on. Guilt and feeling regret most woman I talk to are surprised that it was not done and over with. I liked what you said about your feelings are your feeling and you cant change that. That is so true. Thank you for posting this video.

hartrose33 I'm probably a bitch but coming from a woman that has lost 4 kids and has trouble getting pregnant if you know exactly what abortion is meaning you are well educated on how well formed that baby is, you should never get the option to end another life. Now if you regret it and didn't know what you were doing because in this society of its still a clump of cells even though it has a beating heart and has everything we do then that's different and quite heartbreaking that people push that so much it actually makes people think its alright. My earliest miscarriage was at 7 weeks and even though it was tiny it came out perfectly formed arms and legs were perfect all the toes and fingers. I lost twins around 10 weeks they came out and you could even tell what gender they were :(

kirstyn witt your not a bitch at all. I Have lost 6 babies I lost my little Michael at 13 weeks. My 20 yr old is the only one that has made it we are still Trying at 47 with pcos and hubby has male factor infertility. It is amazing how poeple fight over life. They fight to end it and they fight to bring it in to this crazy messed up world. My midwife is a hospice nurse and says the wait you have waiting for a new life to enter this world and the wait you have when life is about to leave this world feels the same way. How oddly amazing that is right. It really makes you think how fragile our life is.

Here for you Mariah. We are women, not "bitches". I would feel the same and have delved into period tracking, an app called "Clue", and two means of contraception. I plan on keeping my periods while using the pill and discovering any unplanned pregnancy within legal abortion time. I do not know if I ever want children. Now is a 100% unapologetic no, no ifs ands or buts.

Teen mom here too. I wish I would have seen your video before my pregnancy. I felt absolutely alone, but yet I wasn’t. I had so many people around me but still felt alone. I couldn’t share my honest thoughts because nobody understood me. I felt like I couldn’t be happy about my pregnancy because I was looked down upon by everyone. My aunt had passed away, of cancer, not too long before I found out I was pregnant. She was a teen mom and the only person I knew who would have understood me. My whole pregnancy I felt like I wasn’t supposed to be happy. Because I felt that every person looked down upon me because I was pregnant so young. But now I have my daughter, she is almost two and I could not live without her. She literally saved me and I honestly do not know where I would be without her. I love your video! I hope you make more ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love how open you are about this, it’s such a good video 💗 I fell pregnant with my son when I was 16, the pill made me really sick and stopped working and that’s how I got pregnant. I found out at 6 weeks and didn’t tell anyone that I was pregnant until I was 27 weeks. I didn’t tell my family (besides my mum of course) that I had a baby until 6 days after he was born. I’m 17 (18 in july next year) my son is 7 Months old, I only just found out now that I’m 16 weeks pregnant and I’m due May 4th which is exactly a month after my sons birthday.. I’m freaking out. I fell pregnant on the pill again but this time We were using a condom (that obviously didn’t work..) I’ve only told my mum and my boyfriend this time and probably don’t plan on telling anyone til the baby is born because it’s so scary to know that I’ll lose so many friends again.. I have been through so much depression and anxiety in the past 2 years it is insane. But I’m so glad you are doing okay and that you and your baby girl are healthy 💗💗 Can I follow you on Instagram? 💗

I have no idea why I found your video today. But girl, you did fantastic. Bravo for the honesty. Don't ever feel like you need to second guess any emotions you were feeling. I am old enough to be your mom, and when I was 33 I found myself with an unplanned pregnancy. I was married and had a 8 month old daughter. Even though I was in a good position being older and married, I freaked out. My marriage was rocky and I had my hands filled with the baby I already had. My point is: if I felt scared, shocked, and unsure what to do married at 33, you are most definitely ok in everything you thought or felt at 18! Don't let anyone invalidate your feelings from then or now, and take a deep breath. If you could be brave enough to make this video, honey you can do anything. I am sure many people will relate to this video, and not just teens. I know I certainly did. So thank you for having the courage to put this out there, because I can guarantee this video will help others not feel alone.

With my first, I knew I was pregnant before I even took a test. I just felt different and told myself, "I'm pregnant." Tested a week later bc my period didn't come on the first day it was suppose to and it was positive. My second I misscarried. My third, I didn't know but I didn't feel good and kept getting nauseous when I smoked cigarettes and just randomly took one and it was so shocking bc I didn't expect it. I was never meant to be a mother but I knew I'd never be able to have an abortion. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my girls. My first I was 17 when I had her. I was excited but scared. Our journey was/still is hard. She's my first and we are always learning. My second, I lost him/her. It broke me. So when I found out about my third, I was over the moon. I wasn't scared and I think I love her more just bc I lost my second.

good for you for realizing and being selfless enough to stop smoking for your baby. my mother was 37 and continued smoking throughout her pregnancy saying it wouldn't affect the baby, which obviously in the majority of cases has affected babies whose mothers had smoked. She denied that smoking was bad out of pure selfishness and pride. So thank you for being responsible.

My story is kind of similar to yours. I found out at 24 weeks I was pregnant now I am 30 weeks. I believe everything happens for a reason and maybe I was not meant to know about the baby so I didn't have time to make the choice to abort. I had a lot of other health issues happening to me during the past few months that didn't make me think of pregnancy as well just like you did. I am not a young as you as I am 26 years old but Its great to hear someone have a story somewhat similar to mine.

This is an amazing video, good on you for speaking to the world and sharing your story. I went through the same thing, I got pregnant around October/November 2015, the same time me and my boyfriend split up. The way I distracted myself from him was to go out and drink every weekend. I was on the pill but skipped the sugar ones to I didn't get a period, I didn't show, and I didn't have any morning sickness. The only sign was my stomach was very tense and my mum kept joking around about me being pregnant until I brought a test at 10am after work on April 19th 2016. it came up positive straight away. I had a very sleepless night. My mum took me to family planning the next morning and the nurse said I felt around 20+ weeks, I was in so much shock, I didn't want this baby I wanted an abortion. She sent me for an emergency scan and I ended up getting told I was 26 weeks and due July 31st 2016. I had 14 weeks until I was going to deliver a baby. On July 25th 2016 I gave birth to my baby boy Micah, he's now 16 months old and the light of my life. It's so scary what we went through but we dealt with it and now look at us 😊

You are amazing! I had an abortion when I was a bit older then you and it was the right decision. I think every woman should make her own decision but there is nothing wrong when you choose yourself and your life
