I like to pressure clean before taking any of my equipment apart. Good job finding and fixing the issue.

I have never had a set of chains for my skid loader. I have a T300 on rubber tracks and they are great but like everything thing else they get bad and have to be replaced. Great video and I use travelers oils all the time except when I have to use a special oil

I thought about getting a tracked skid steer. I think it would be less of a mess around the silage bags but I'm afraid with all the bogey wheels having the problems with mud and freeze in the winter. I had a set of rubber pad over the tire tracks before. They worked great but had more freezing issues. Probably a different style from another company would have worked better.

Add another larger bolt and nut welded to the cover as an alternative oil fill point, somewhere clear of the chains.

Is it just me or does someone also see the back wheel being smaller than the front one? Shouldn't both be equal to not have unnecessary stress in the drive system? And also being the cause of the excessive slack wear in the first place?

You got a video of the noise? I figure I got the same thing going on with mine.

never put a half link in. the chain is stretched and will eat the sprockets, and that cost much more. do it right the first time and save money.

Used motor oil should work...it's acidic, but should work

Probably cleaner than the oil I drained out.

Most of the original Drive chains in skid loaders are endless they're supposed to be stronger the replacement ones usually come with the master links that have the cotter keys in them not the clip the clip can come off if you have water in the oil and it freezes and gets slushy I've seen it happen not a fun thing when it's cold outside and everything in that drive chain compartment is freezing been there done that not going to do it again waste oil should probably work fine I usually use whatever oil doesn't have a label on it that came from an auction that I wouldn't run in an engine I think you're fix for those chains should work just fine time will tell though thanks for the video 👍

That's one reason I just went with new chain, so there's only one connection instead of using a half link or using 2 masters in a chain. Doesn't look like there was any water in there and used motor is probably just as clean as I drained out.
