From the thumbnail I immediately recognised this vet. Good choice Matt, the vets at the Lingehoeve are great. It is indeed expensive, but don't we all want our horses to be healthy and feeling great? Unfortunately I've been a regular visitor at the Lingehoeve with my horses.. Luckily it is close by for me (15 minute drive). Last time I didn't have to pay, because I had to go back after a dentist treatment (horse didn't want to eat at all!). They said it was included in their service, gave me a list of tips and tricks and wanted to help my horse until he could eat normal again. Overall, only positive experiences with the Lingehoeve for me! :)

My dogs cost me also a fortune (airways tickets, vet, medicine, proper food) but if you really love your animals and take them into their best environment and wellfare, it cannot be a sad time when you have to pay the vet. You have to be prepared. I believe they also have health insurance for animals, for the bill is quite high when heath problems occur...

@bridgetconnor14475 жыл бұрын
I don't think I would risk it with my horse. Radioactive??? I would call the chiropractor instead.
@mycroftholmes82615 жыл бұрын
@@bridgetconnor1447 actually, there are things that a chiropractor won't be able to diagnose properly. And even though the horse is "radioactive" for a couple of hours, it's not dangerous. Effectively, it's just like a CAT scan for horses. Also, it is extremely efficient in diagnosing arthritis, for example.
@bridgetconnor14475 жыл бұрын
@@mycroftholmes8261 I would not take a radioactive injection into my own body and the horses don't get to have a say in this decision. If diagnosing lameness causes other serious health problems later on, you have to ask yourself if it was really worth it. Maybe 6 months out to pasture could have cured the problem much more naturally. so I reiterate I would not take that chance with my horse.
@mycroftholmes82615 жыл бұрын
@@bridgetconnor1447 imo it is a good way to diagnose unclear lameness and spot where the problem is, but of course everyone can and should decide that for themselves / their own horse! 😊
@wolfsbane19915 жыл бұрын
@@bridgetconnor1447 I don't mean to sound condescending, but I think someone having studied nothing else than veterinay medicine for 8 years and then practising all their life, knows better than you. Sorry but that's the truth. Radioactivity is only ever damaging if you expose yourself every day for years. Medical personnel have to be careful. Humans and horses getting an X-ray or a sctintigraphy once? No, not dangerous. Are you saying that if you were hit by a car and the doctors needed to do this type of diagnostics, you would refuse? I mean, you can hurt yourself all you want and deny treatment, but please don't take care of an animal if you aren't going to help them when they need it. You didn't go to vet school, you think that "radioactive" is a scary spooky word and that it is 100% damaging. It's not. I worked at an equine hospital for 5 years, we use this diagnostic all the time, as well as X-rays. They are fantastic tools. They would never even be approved for diagnostics if they had any adverse effects. They've been in testing for decades before finally being used at hospitals. They save horses' lives. Having one treatment is not even close to being a problem. Maybe you should study a bit before making blanket statements and assumptions. Again, you can deny yourself treatment all you want, but please don't make animals suffer because you think all radioactive compounds are dangerous, when in fact scintigraphy is extremely helpful. Stay in school :-)

Awe, our pleasure Matt. Thank you for taking us along with you. It makes me so happy to see how happy the horses were to see each other again. Just melts my heart. I'm also happy you figured that there was something wrong with Chase and had him looked at. You are the best. Again, thank you for taking us along with you. You are never alone LOL. We are here for you. Have a happy day!

Chase is trying to get all the dr smells off. You're one very wonderful young man for caring about the well being of Chase. Not very many individuals really take the responsibility of their animal's seriously, their just animals. But you and Jesse are 2 of the best people I have ever watched. So proud of you both. I've watched this before but its still nice to see again.

This is absolutely a video to parents thinking of buying their child a horse! Or just about anyone who doesn`t know how much it cost to own a horse. Thank you for being so open about it, a lot of people don`t wanna talk about what the cost are. And I`ve seen people getting a horse not preparing to pay for it. And when they can`t pay for their horse, sadly the horse is the one taking the consequences.

It is so worrying when you know there is something wrong with your horse but unable to pinpoint the injury. Wishing you well with Chase's recovery. When my horse returned from a spell after an injury, I walked him for a month, then walks with a 5 trotting steps, then walk, the few trotting steps, took it really slowly to strengthen the ligaments ad gradually getting him into full work.
