This calculus video tutorial explains how to find the particular solution of a differential equation given the initial conditions. It explains how to find the function given the first derivative with one initial condition and how to find the function given the second derivative with two initial conditions using indefinite integration. You need to know how to find the antiderivative and indefinite integral of a function to get through this video. This tutorial contains plenty of examples and practice problems on finding particular solutions of differential equations.

Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for an excellent video/lecture on Finding Particular Solutions of Differential Equations Given Initial Conditions in Calculus. Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, at the 10:55 minute mark, when you integrate 1/3 x cubed -4x + 25/3 , there is a dx missing at the end of this expression. Please correct this small error in the video.

Do we always have to find the anti derivative? Because I have a question of y=f(x) and to find the particular solution with the given differential equation with the initial condition of f(1)=3. I dont know if this is an easy question and im over analyzing it, maybe I’m just not Calc smart, I’m really lost. This video I truly get it but what stumps me is I don’t need to take the anti derivative or do I?

No. You're finding the integral or derivative base on the function given. You want to get it to f(x) or y form. Yours is already there.

I would say no since infinity is more of an idea than an actual number, but C can be any number from (-infinity, infinity).

why 12? why not multiply by 3? it's an easier number?
@MIDNIMOJANAQOOW
@MIDNIMOJANAQOOW 3 жыл бұрын
Here It is a fraction equaton. The easiest way to solve is to get rid of the denominator so that you get a normal equattion, I mean not a fraction equation. That is why he chooses to multiply "12".

I took diff eq like 12 years ago and failed. But THIS, this right here, makes diff eq not seem hard. I must have been a dumbass back then. I'm back at school and have to take it in the spring, which means I get to re-teach myself calculus 😂

why is -48+77=-125? I'm genuinely confused :
@gamingisme2903
@gamingisme2903 5 ай бұрын
-48 +77 is the same as 77-48. if you add a negative to a postive then they counteract. therefore -48 + 77 is 29 because you are taking a negative and adding it with a positive.
@theladyreaperr
@theladyreaperr 3 ай бұрын
It’s not -48+77 it’s -48-77. Because he’s moving the +77 to the side with -48 to get 12D alone, So he has to subtract it not add it making -48 - (+77)= -125

It's the same tho, for example f(x) = x^3 + x and f'(1) = 4 are given, u just need to derive the f(x) and after that sub 1 into the derived function
