Finally, it's best to take green tea extract with food. Both exceeding the recommended dose and taking it on an empty stomach may cause serious liver damage ( 30 , 54 ). Green tea extract can be consumed in capsule, liquid, or powder form. The recommended dose is 250-500 mg, taken with food.

@@ConsumerlabPlus It's been five years since that comment, but for those reading this: Fluoride levels in green tea are much lower than in black tea, and the highest levels of fluoride are in matcha tea: avoid it. As for drinking green tea every day, that is a great way to boost your health. To reduce - and virtually remove harmful fluoride from your drinking water, by the way, just add a handful of tulsi / holy basil to a gallon, and let it steep for an hour or so.

100 % ,not to mention he's trying to scare people and sign up so they can read the report and hopefully there they find that best product. You see this practice with soo many different things. The true is ,if you instead spend the money to buy quality tea,you'll be fine,any miniscule amount of something remotely concerning would be outweight by the benefits of this beverage,think is,green tea is grown in the condition(heat, humidity,sun..) that unless you buy spring harvest tea leaves, later in the season they haven't use pesticides, even the most high quality producers.However I doubt that the ammout that en up in final product is worth worrying about,it is probably worst for you to eat farmed seafood.

Thank you for making research on the subject. I was personally looking for the testing of lead in matcha powders, as with many powders in spices like origano , test with heavy metals. Often these products are praised with high health value, but a darker side seems to be passing under the radar of many who consume these products almost daily ..

Interesting how fluoride makes your bone n teeth brittle and its in most tooth paste and the water supply.
@ConsumerlabPlus5 жыл бұрын
The reason it is in water and toothpaste is that you need a small amount to strengthen bones and teeth. Getting way too much, however, make bones and teeth brittle. So, if you substitute green tea for water all day long, you'll get too much since green tea contains flouride.

About half of the coal burned in the world is burned in China, and Chinese coal is about 1,000 times higher in lead than American coal. Why does this matter in a discussion about green tea? Because most of the green tea sold worldwide comes from China and research strongly suggests that in terms of lead, it’s where it’s grown that is most important.

Matcha tea powder has 10 times the EGCG and catechins of tea that is brewed from teabags, because you are consuming the entire leaf rather than just discarding the tea leaves after steeping. There are many brands now that have a matcha blend with whole leaves in tea bags or sachets that are cheaper than buying the tea powder. I would think that they offer a bit more health benefits than the regular tea bags. :)
