Nothing about the grief journey looks particularly hopeful going into it. It feels a lot like 4 A.M. Your surroundings tell you it's night time, but the clock says it's a new day. You can either believe everything you feel, or (by faith) look at the clock and be reminded that every new day begins in the dark.

Wow….that last part floored me. I’ve never been able to articulate that specific feeling. I have been feeling it recently in relation to my parenting & cultivating my kid’s relationship w/ God. I think hearing that raw expression will be helpful in articulating my feelings, and finding the most productive way forward. Mom’s wisdom was very therapeutic as well!! 🏴🏴
