I have it on my caravan keyfob style but tried it on the push start cycling 3 times quickly and seen that it work for it aswell.

My check engine light just came on this morning found ur video and it worked for me but just said done, no code popped up

I've had the same thing happen to me but my vehicle Felt like it was running fine so I disconnected. My ground cable on the battery kept it off for about 10 minutes. Put it back on, reset everything. It erased the engine light and then didn't come on again. Sometimes the engine light can be triggered by certain circumstances. But there'll be nothing wrong. But if your engine light comes on and it's flashing while your vehicle is running then you'll want to take it to a mechanic because it's a more serious issue.

@riler19 Good luck, if you have 3.6L engine they're usually pretty good I've had to change a couple rocker arms because of ticking noise just small things here and there.

Mine did the same. My brother in law is coming with my other vehicle, tools, and code reader. Pretty sure its a misfire but no code showed up with this trick, just the message done and back to the odometer.

I got an error code when I got my oil changed and the engine light came on. Resetting it the normal way wasn't clearing it. I saw your video, tried it, got the "done" message, and the engine light went off 🤷‍♂️

Our check engine light came one recently . I did the code check you recommended and both times it said done . Does that mean I still should get it scanned by reader or is there a way to get check engine light turned off on my own ?please

@@biggalljzionkemp9719 I'd purchase an OBD2 reader for yourself that can read and erase codes and try tightening your gas cap sometimes that can cause an engine light to come on.

@traceyoflaherty9422 you have to do it fast and not put your foot on the brake at all and 3 rd time land on start in-between doing it you have to open and close your driver door to reset the procedure.

@Likeafartinthewind as soon as you close the door when you step into your vehicle without stepping on your brake pedal cycle quickly on your push button 3 times ending on Run ot should do it. If not turn it off open and close your door and try the procedure again.

@Likeafartinthewind that means there aren't any generic codes if your engine light is on or on and flashing then the next step is grabbing an OBD2 Scanner as there could be something else going on. Try disconnecting your negative battery terminal for ten minutes then reattach it and make sure your battery connectors are tight and see if the check engine comes on again. If it does then try a OBD2 Scanner.

@Likeafartinthewind I hope it works out for you, ive too have been through all these motions and bought the tools and scantools when nothing else works to be able to make the repair if possible myself or at least know what needs done when going to a mechanic I can trust.

It's where the odometer is if you cycle the button 3 xs stopping on run on the 3rd cycle

@user-qf6bj2ix3w it's a generic engine light code to give you an idea why your engine light is on. It's a tool for Diy'ers to see if it's something they can fix themselves, and for others to educate them so a bad mechanic doesn't try to take advantage of their customers.
