"Full of metaphors this world" ... couldn't be more accurate. Robert Jordan loved his niche metaphors, so much so that hey created different sets of metaphors for the different cultures. The cast is lovely and the show has lots of potential,but please,please,allow Jordan's elaborate story to breath and give them more episodes to develope the characters and the rules of the magic system or it is in danger of becoming really campy and silly,in particular with the strange editing and also the nonsensical and confusing plots like Nynaeve's "revival" from the dead and a circle of just 5 chanellers,3 of them weak destroying Trolloc army instead of the Dragon himself doing that,there will be no tension and no stakes in the later story if this continues

Yea it sucks, I'd had like to see some interviews or some behind the scene clips of him. I assume it has to do with the nature of his departure and maybe theyre salty about it. Hopefully it wasnt on a sour note, but I don't see the show runners being happy and accepting of him leaving before the completion of season 2 unless it was extremely important. It was clear that it messed up the story at the end with him no longer being apart of the show.

They've kept up this trend for season 2. Just look at the casting choice for Aviendha. She looks nothing how Aviendha, or Aiel, are described. It's obvious from the casting choices, story changes, and Rafe's own commentary on social media, they had no intention of doing a faithful adaptation of Jordan's story.

Excellent cast and I have high hopes. Just dont screw it up with poor editing and lack of episodes so you can have some chance to connect to them all. Wheel of Time is all about various characters with different agendas. Season 2 minimum 10 episodes please. Also make the viewers understand how difficult it is to understand and even use the One Power. IOt was shown to casually and easy in Season 1

My feeling is Jordan would be disappointed in these screen versions of his books, I know I am. Either the script writers did not really read the books or the short comings were due to budget or perhaps just the director's poor vision of the stories. All of these directors think they know better than the authors/creators. They tend to disdain fantasy anyway. It's also tough when politics take presidence over artistry. In the 80's and even 90's you essentially had no idea what most directors politics were just based on their work. Now they hardly hold back with it.

If I hadn't read the books, I'd have no idea what was going on in this horribly edited and scripted debacle. Having read the books, I know what's going on, but most of it is horribly contrary to the books. I understand that changes need to be made. The series is too long to have everything adapted to the screen. That said, the changes you have made serve no purpose, destroy characters and character arcs, and have led to a very bland retelling of an amazing story. Seriously amazon, with only 8 episodes, why waste entire episodes on things that never even happened in Eye of the World? You have done these amazing actors a disservice by not letting their characters develop properly. Either invest the money in a couple more episodes per season, or just cut bait and go home. I'm still watching, but this is like a mildly entertaining CW show for me, not the EPIC I expected and hoped for. Edit: Moraine is not the lead character, FYI.

You missed the mark on season 1...you change too much! You miss what is important and what is not. If I didnt LOVE the books I would have never finished season 1. It was sadly, very frustrating to watch. Get back to the story in the book! There is so much you DO NOT NEED TO MAKE UP elaborate ceremony, such as the horrible Aes Sedai funeral chest pounding. Get back to the books....I cant believe Harriet greenlit some of the changes. The overall change in plot was alright however. That could have went well...but to change the magic system(show what is happening from the point of the character viewing, yes, sometimes you will see no magic BUT you will see the effect still!), to change and make up ceremonies and nonsense...please, please, please, get someone who has read ALL the books and LOVES and respects them to work with the show. I have not a single positive thing to say about this show. It is a horrendous mockery of the books. Why don't more people talk about Lan (a dude who does self deprivation as a way to relax and vacations in the Blight) complaining about cold water? Nyeaneve has literally no descriptive attributes in common with her character. The Two Rivers never sees any immigration in the stories, which really makes the diversity in the show wasted on shoehorning these actors and actresses into roles instead of running into the incredibly ethnically and culturally diverse characters we should have met organically along the way. The show has no redeeming factors as far as I'm concerned.

She's not even in the story for most of it. Departs in like book 5 or something and doesn't return till the final chapters of book 13 or so. So yeah, no.

No, Rand is by far the main of the first book and then it gets shared between the Two Rivers folk. Moiraine is important but still a side character.

Horrible casting. No one looks like anyone in the book. And the show waivers from the book. Very disappointed. The look of the way gates really was lazy work. If GOT the show could follow the books and have characters that resembeled what was described in the book why couldn't Amazon do the same. Watching it makes it seem that they didn't care about what the characteristics of the characters from the book. Two things that really pissed me off were that Rosamund Pike is not Moiraine. One she is to tall and doesn't have characteristics of Moiraine from the book. Second is Perrin...he is supposed to be shorter than Rand and doesn't grow a beard until later on. Also he wasn't married. Changes the whole life of Perrin. Show sucks and very disappointed in Amazon

@Zoe Dawn I hate the beginning where they are chasing down Logain. The book had the Dragon finally realizing what he did. I wanted to see how they were going to portrait that but nooooooooo... they cut out that scene completely. And when Rand sees the Fade on the road to town. Only people who didn't read the books liked the show.

SAD...I could not watch the first episode when I watched the "racially' diverse case from an isolated mountain village. That is just plain wrong, like seeing all ethnicities in Wakanda. You have destroyed such a great story. SHAME!

This series has some problems. But as a huge fan I want it to succeed no matter what, because I want Harriett to open the world up to new stories by new authors.
