If Tyr is the God of War, it’s easy to see in this moments why Odin wanted him out of the way. Tyr’s perceptiveness and wisdom allows him to analyze situations, places, and people until he understands them to his core. Odin was afraid of what Tyr would perceive in him, and of his ability likely to deconstruct Odin’s illusions probably through mere observation.

The fact Odin went as far as to act out as Tyr being a coward... Really shows just how much he despised the God of War. He hated him so much he wanted those who saw Tyr to slowly despise him because of the attitude "he" displayed. Additional note: You know, I feel as if Tyr was the most loved Aesir by the other realms out of all the others. While the other Aesir were looked upon out of awe and fear for their might. Tyr? Even in the previous game we saw he was respected immensely for his wisdom, tenacity, and kindness. Regardless whether Odin held some disdain over this or simply failed (or refused to) understand Tyr, it's absolutely disgusting with what he did to Tyr. Honestly, I'm down for having Odin suffer in for all eternity. But at this point... I think Sindri made the right move. No amount of suffering can make Odin pay for what he ALMOST did to the realms, and the century of isolation Tyr faced. I think at one point Tyr WAS filled with anger, but his time alone probably taught him to let go.

When Tyrodin was being a useless and weird but understandable pacifist, I almost felt like the developers have ruined Tyr's profile that was built up in the last game in order to make other things in Ragnarok work, truly in terms of time and clutching content, and went with the "well a few slip-ups can be forgiven"-approach. And I still kinda do because we still see next to nothing of Tyr. But the whole idea of Tyrodin made things so much more interesting in the last few hours of the story. Disguising himself, infiltrating the enemy through deceit and preemptive information gathering and actually having the tenacity to play it all out all the while pretending as Odin to not know the important bits of the enemy’s plan WITHOUT any slip of the tongue until well, that slip of a tongue, is such an Odin move that it almost sparks joy in me thinking back to Tyrodin's Peace talks and paroles that amounted to absolutely nothing.

This guy let an unkillable, reality-devouring wolf monster chew his arm off so that others could bind it. He literally sacrificed an arm to save the realms, and then went on a journey to find a way to regrow a lost limb, something that no other god can really do, as Heimdall couldn't properly regrow his lost arm in his fight, nor Odin restore his lost eye. Being soft-spoken, courteous and super-chill is not the same as being weak. There's no telling how strong he'd be in a real fight. Tyr was the God of War, but there are many aspects of war. Self-discipline, strategy, alliances, logisitics, and inspiring one's followers are all also parts of war. Where Ares, and later Kratos pre-character development, represented the more violent and bloody aspects of warfare, Tyr represents the more intellectual side, the side that requires the ability to think and plan calmly and rationally, the side that allows one to gain allies through negotiation, friendship, and mutual understanding. Where Ares and Kratos represent the strength and passion when it comes to war, Tyr represents the mind and the heart.

The game would be much, much shorter. When Odin took the shape of Tyr, he could never possibly replicate his personality being that it was just a disguise. So, the old man simply drew upon his own perception of Tyr, and played himself a coward who preaches peace like a broken record. Anyone who has met Tyr before his imprisonment, even for a moment, would be able to see right through Odin's disguise. But after? They'd just think Tyr was broken from all the torturing and isolation. But now we know the real Tyr never broke. Not even a little. Because peace is not all he is. Tyr is a warrior. He leads armies. He fights battles. And he wins wars. The fact that he doesn't do it through the same methods and mentality as other gods of war is what lead to the false perception of him being a weak pacifist. But make no mistake. Though he prefers to fight with the mind rather than fists or weapons, he's still a damn good fighter. Tyr is a god of war through and through, and no doubt he and Kratos may team up in the next adventure. Tl/dr: If the real Tyr was found, the game would be over much sooner because Tyr is still a genuinely competent, frighteningly powerful god of war who just happens to want peace more than others.

I have to say that I do really love GoW version of Tyr. If you look at Norse mythology and the stories Tyr was more of an individual to strive for peace rather than war. He was a God of War but would only take up arms as a last resort. He was also very wise that is why the 'All Father' feared him so. I hope there is DLC with Tyr because I very much would love to spend more time with this character.

Having seen how Tyr interacts with the world and how he speaks I don't think he was just reflecting. He was observing the changes that occurred in each realm and possibly contemplating his role in a world that doesn't necessarily need him anymore now that Kratos basically protects the realms now. I have a feeling he may continue to travel to other pantheons to see what he may have missed. He strikes me as a nomad.

I can only think of Kratos' reason for another adventure is if there are other tyrants with a grudge like Odin who'll find out he's alive and aims to invade the Nine Realms for revenge. Of course, there would be other gods who don't want the dude to die, so they'll probably tell him to take refuge and regroup in their realms and jfc THE POSSIBILITIES, MAN. Honestly? I think the next game should be about Loki's journey to find all the lost Giants, and of the process of rebuilding post-Ragnarok and the struggles that will arise from both. In the case of the Giants, it's important to note that Faye went against the wishes of her people in the hopes of giving her husband and child a better future. Rather than allow them to be used as pawns in the Giants' prophesized war and sacrifice their opportunity to grow and to be better than they once were in the process, Faye gave them all they needed to change the form of the journey, even if the end result generally proceeded according to prophecy. As for the rebuilding? Even with the noblest intentions to start with, there will still be conflicts between the denizens of the eight remaining realms. Kratos will have to do what he can to keep the peace, along with the allies he's made.

*Helheim* - the Egyptian Ka, both a hieroglyph and worship pose. Popular modern definitions of Ka include: "your character is defined by what you do with what you know about reality, your behavior reflecting who you are." A pose and symbol so standalone and definitive, the Greeks adopted it, then the Romans, and now it's part of the etymology of words like "charisma." Very appropriate for Tyr to be doing in the underworld, in front of the guardian of the underworld. *Muspelheim* - Japan? this one's not definitive. It's just a basic resting pose shared across most cultures. But it's most commonly seen nowadays in ninja and samurai films, as the Bushido rest pose. It could be one of the Native American sitting poses... But it's probably Japanese. *Alfheim* - the classical Greek philosopher pose, but standing instead of sitting or kneeling. *Svartalheim* - I don't recognize this one. Any ideas? China? *Vanaheim* - lots of people think this one is Tai Chi. If it is, it's a mistake. Tai Chi is quite new, and adopted this movement from the Vedics. The movements and symbolism are derivative of India's religions. It symbolizes the ability to control the wind around you through focus and breathing, and modern yoga uses it too. Fun fact: it was historically tied to the swastika, which represented the Four Winds until Nazis misappropriated it. Extra fun fact: many of the poses and chants from modern yoga are directly lifted from religious worship practices and ceremonies, meaning there are millions of Americans performing Vedic-style worship without realizing it. *Midgard* - he's just... standing there? Is he supposed to be staring up at the world serpent that's not there anymore?
