I could have used this video a few months back while working on my '54 GA5. I just recapped it, never done any work like it before. I can't believe how much better it sounds. It still has the original tubes in it, I'm looking to get replacements so I can save the old ones for a rainy day. I'm also thinking about replacing the 4x6 oval speaker with an 8" vintage style speaker (also to save from ruining it). Any thoughts on that plan?

Preserving the original parts is always a popular idea. Amplified Parts is a good source for tubes or speakers. TedWeber is a favorite source for speakers.. Weber's "clone" speakers are often closer to the originals than anyone elses.

@@DeadKoby I'm glad I've been taking my time to do this properly, it would be a shame to ruin this amp. The original caps still worked, but I changed them out of caution. I replaced the original power cord. Thank you for the suggestions, I'll take a look at these shops.
