OMG that was an emotional VLOG. Yasuki cried, I cried, you cried, I cried. You are an amazing man. Your compassion is incomparable. Yasuki looked so worried at the beginning and Nala gave us that wonderful "I'm not happy" attitude when you put Yasuki in the van.. Before the surgery Yasuki was coming right around to all the love and care. What a fantastic story. I will be watching this one over and over again. Love you so much for everything you do for these helpless fur babies and the world in general. ❤❤

Hey Dean, former veterinary technician here. The procedure on Yasuki‘s hip without the screws is called a femoral head osteotomy, FHO. Very common way to fix problems with the hip and the head of the femur bone. The rounded part of the femur is removed and the muscles, ligaments, tendons will scar in creating a new “joint“ that many, many dogs have and do just fine with. Are normal active dogs. Many blessings to you, Nala and Yasuki! so grateful that you found such good veterinary care in Serbia.

One of my cats had this done at 1yo after he was hit by a car. He went on to climb the screen doors and trees for another 10 years before his femur wore through his pelvis and we had to put him down. So Yasuki will probably do fine for many years to come.

Dean and Nala are ok, they are in Serbia but need to leave due to visa issues, Deans been busy helping Yasuki and Charlie recover and trying to find them forever homes, it’s a shame there haven’t been any videos recently but when you see what they’ve been going through you’ll understand. So relieved about the good prognosis for Yasuki! If I hadn’t been following this on Instagram, this KZbin video would have been far too heart-wrenching to watch. Even though I knew things would turn out well for her, I still chocked back tears while watching Dean’s eyes well up. So happy that Dean spotted her in time and that she got a second chance at life. Yes, same here, especially how she screamed in that field for Dean not to let her there to die... so sad... and Dean mentioned in one of the stories on Instagram that the vet said she probably had been there for 5 days and nobody - nobody - stopped to help... she had maggots on her wounds! and she couldn´t move!!! She was dying a slow death with people passing by in cars and doing nothing... I mean, how cruel is that!

I’ll never forget how Yasuki looked when you first found her and came back to get her. Her face looked as if she KNEW you were the one who would get her to safety. She was faced with the most human cruelty and yet still had so much sweetness from the moment she spotted you. Her crying as if to say, “please god don’t leave me!” is heart explodingly sad. The adventures of Dean and Nana never end!! You are an inspiration Dean, and your love of animals is absolutely to be admired. You saw Yasuki's will to live and love, and you gave her the chance she needed. She is a beautiful young dog and she deserve to be loved, and she obviously has a lot of love to give. I'm so impressed with the vets and the staff there, how they've cared for her and gave us all hope. I can't wait to see more of her story. We had to finally put our old dog to sleep a few weeks ago, after many thousands of dollars, and two years of vet visits, labs and x-rays every 3 months, we just couldn't buy her anymore time. We are waiting to recover a bit financially before getting another dog, and we're giving our 3 cats the attention that they missed over the last two years with our dogs medical needs. It's crazy, but we think the cats actually miss the dog, most especially the two year old. That cat my neighbor found in the street at only a couple wks old, and I hand raised her, thinking we'd find her a home once she was old enough. I don't know how people do it, but after taking that kitten with me everywhere, getting up all night long to feed her, two vet visits because her eyes were a mess, then again because her stomach got huge and we were afraid she was going to die (she had worms!!), after all that, I decided we had way too much invested and she was ours. So she was pretty much raised with the dog from the beginning, I think that's why the dogs absence is so hard for her. Anyone who thinks animals don't feel emotions is just clueless!! They absolutely do.

Thank you for rescuing Yasuki when so many others just drove past leaving her to her fate. As a retired veterinarian I KNOW how rare it is to find people like you who'll put so much effort, love and money into saving the life of an injured stray dog. I'm not part of Instagram but am SO thrilled so see in the comments here that Yasuki is walking. The day you were contemplating euthanasia I could still see she had the will to live and the desire to love and be loved in her eyes, so I'm SO glad you took a chance with her.❤ To my Serbian colleagues at the veterinary hospital...You are all angels too and a credit to our profession.❤❤ And let's not forget Dean's followers who immediately sprang into action! ❤

Now, Yasuki is in Belgrade doing really well... she has physiotherapy sessions 3 times a week with dr. Anastasjia and stays in a nice room - like a princess ;-)

@@catherinecozzano2580 Hey Catherine, on may 18th he posted about Nala's book going to paperback, also he found another dog on the side of the road in Serbia that nobody was stopping to help so he took it to the vets, he's asking for suggestions for names. Everything seems to be alright, maybe just a busy time for Dean, hope this helped 😊.

Thank you Dean for going above and beyond for this precious pooch- Yasuki. You are like the Good Samaritan from the Bible. How many people would pass this pooch by and not care, but then you came along and made a world of difference for Yasuki. I hope you can keep her and that Nala fully accepts her. She is a very sweet beautiful dog. I was crying when you were trying to get her into the van and she was yelping in pain. I also cried when the initial news was so bad, it looked like the only thing to to do was put her down. TG for the miracle that took place and that she got that surgery done. I looked at your Go Fund me. Wow, everything cane together amazingly to cover the surgery and beyond. God bless you Dean. You truly are a very special man. Nala and Yasuki were lucky to be found by you. 😸🐶❤❤❤

Thank goodness Scottish lads are strong. Strength to pick her up, and strong of heart. Even though I know Yasuki came through, I cried tears of sadness and happiness all the way through. Every cent of our donated money spent well on Yasuki and Serbian shelters. ❤️🇦🇺
