God - the Christian God - created the universe. He is the source of all that is good.

You really need to be careful. You make it sound as if everything we have today that is good, came out of Christianity. There are problems with such thinking if that is what you are in fact, thinking. Among them are:- a. Jews (e.g. David) were not and are not Christian. b. Ditto for Catholics (e.g. Augustine). Do you actually consider Catholics to be Christian? Or can it be that good things can come from non Christians or people who are not actually real Christian? c. Would we actually have Christianity (in all its myriad and often conflicting forms) if it were not for the people who came before - Jews, Greeks, Romans? d. Is the world the only place that is confused? Or is Christianity a place that is also confused and it's always been thus? For example, just look at all the Christian sects, cults, denominations and so on which often engage in mutual finger pointing, accusing each other of heresy, of being evil etc. Yet they all claim to be biblically based, to be guided by God, and so on. e. The Greeks and Romans (as well as other cultures) were well into such things as mathematics, logic, writing, artistry, science, technology, etc well before Christianity came along. f. Christians seem to be as capable as everyone else of doing wrong things, and everyone else seem to be as capable as Christians of doing good things. ^^ I am not saying that everything about Christianity is wrong, or bad. Clearly it's not. The world owes a lot to Christianity and Christians. And this has often been undervalued. However, it's not the case that all that is good is thanks to Christians and all that is bad is thanks to non Christians. The bible might teach a lot of good stuff. But it also teaches a lot of bad stuff. Many lousy Christian attitudes are thanks to that bad stuff. As for finding purpose? It's often found by being alive in the world. Purpose(s) will smack a person in the face soon enough. As for "true" purpose? Do all those people who claim to be Christian but whom you see as heretics, or not real Christians have "true" purposes in life? I'd suggest that they believe they do. If they can have it even though they are not real Christians, then so can we all.

@@Yossarian. no. That’s not what the Bible says. More like a character in God’s story.
