Prayer for the Dead - Bardo Prayer

I lost my mum 49 days ago on April 4th, 2023. I am not a religious person, and I am Canadian. Like everyone else in the comments, I seeked this out to find peace in losing her. Every 7 days, I had dreamed of her and these dreams were very lucid and felt real. I didn't look forward nor anticipated these dreams at all. I knew nothing of Tibetan customs and I believe we'll never really truly know. With that said, the parallels of my experiences align slightly to what the Tibetians teach in their book. If you are reading this and you have also lost somebody dear.. please know my thoughts are with you, as are many others, past or future. Stay positive, as there is so much love in the world, and I hope you find the peace you seek.

Im a Tibetan, my grandmother had no Illness. One morning around at 2 am she raised her hands in air ( as if she’s reaching for something ). I thought it was just her gesture and I went back to sleep. The morning she wasn’t breathing. I whispered lines from Bardo Thordol in her ears ( with deep believe ) and her lips started to widen like a gentle smile ( as if she was slowly heading into peace ) my grandma suffered at lot under Chinese Communist, yet she had no Ill feelings for any Chinese people. She was the kindest and I know her consciousness has manifested into flowers.

You frequently appear in my dreams and i feel calm and feel like you want me to know that everything is ok. Appa you always told me that “everyone is going to die someday it’s a reality” but now that i think it’s you who has left, my heart doesn’t want to accept the fact that you are forever gone. I still listen to your audio messages you sent me and stil can’t beleive that I won’t be seeing the person behind that voice. Oftentimes i think that i should’ve called you more often and the fact that i did not get to see you for 5 years before you left kills me inside Appa. Can I suggest that you talk to him and let him know it is OK for him to go. Sometimes animals hang on because they aren't sure we can cope without them. I have come across this a few times and when we give our permission so to speak , they will often move on. Animals come to help us. I know this can be a difficult process but it does work. Also tell your dog what he has meant to you, often each day. So, in order, tell him and thank him for coming into your life. Then tell him it is OK with you if he goes now and that there are wonderful times ahead for him with many other dogs.

It's really so painful to hear my mother crying for the first time over phone, that her father who is my grandfather is death. I wish if I were with her in such situations. I am here praying for my grandfather with the tears I am holding in my throat. I still remember my grandfather's words and I will keep working on it as I am missing you a lot. Keep meeting your grandparents everytime when you get the chance, they feel lonely, your one visit could become a life time memory for them.

Date : 25/02/2024 My father is suffering from lots of pain and suffering. He is admitted in ICU and while he was in pain i played this mantra near to his ears and suddenly his movement goes slow down and kept himself stationary and didn’t move after that. I believe that this mantra has a strong power to help individuals from his past and let him to move on whatever written in his life. Finally i found peace on my father face.
