If I was Kyle, I would be jealous of the new knob.

Your knob turn out well. Neat trick with the DP vice. On the CNMG inserts it isn’t as much as the nose radius it’s more the chip breaker in the insert. In an industrial application the 431 insert would be a finishing insert. So the chip breaker is set up for shallower depth of cut. The 432 and up are more roughing inserts so their designed for greater depth of cut. On our smaller lathes this is why the 431 works better

I know James but those particular 432's will just chatter if I try to go deep to activate the chip breaker. They just chew regardless of speed/feed/DOC. I found these 431's can go about .030 max and like .020. I'll find some better 432's down the road. Thanks for commenting!

Burton's Attic oh so these was extremely low quality. But keep in mind about the finishing chip breakers especially if you use EBay inserts like I so

MCKNR2020K12 (3/4) which is 20mmx20mm and 125mm OAL, 100mm shank. If you need a smaller one search MCKNR1616H12 (5/8) or larger is MCKNR2525M16 (1"). You can only use it for facing but hey you get 4 more cutters!

Great job, and great video! But, please stop jusing gloves when your sanding or doing other thing with rotating chuck in the lathe, it so easy to get caught in the chuck!

Sorry man! I knew it would be but that's really what happens. I did turn the audio down on that track, I guess not enough!
