A fine song, a fine poem and a very fine voice! I heard Lal sing many years ago.

Yes it is standard E tuning, capo second fret. These are the chords: Am7 Em7 Am7 Em7 Sleeping in my bed, Am7 Em7 Am7 Em7 Strange thoughts are running through my head. C G Em7 And I dreamed you were C G Am7 Em7 Playing with my hair. C G Em7 F Am7 Em7 Am7 Em7 etc Fine flying Sparrow, fine fine horseman. She uses the same chord structure for each verse! I hope this helps you to play this great song!

Who knew researching how to breed potatoes could lead to such a wealth of art and culture? Thank you Resbie for sharing your talents and passions!!! :-) And thank you Mendel for being the original pea nerd!

Dave Smith and Judy Dinning did the best recorded version of this song on their Waiting for the Change LP. The album also features their stunning version of the Kate Bush classic The Man With The Child In His Eyes and the brilliant Judy Tzuke song Bring The Rain! I have got a well-worn copy of the vinyl, but we have no record player at the moment (damn!) and the CD is no longer available! There are a few dodgy mp3 download sites that don't go anywhere, but alas it is a lost classic! =:^(

lovely! are you playing in standard E tuning? Do you mind telling me roughly what chords you are playing? i've been looking everywhere for the tabs to no avail ! x

Strange to hear it sung in a whispery, breathy, gentle voice rather than Lal's ultra harsh delivery. Nice, though.
