I’ve always had 18ct gold in my new piercings & that has always been fine.

We do use 14k or 18k gold for most of our pieces. All of our gold is nickel-free and hypoallergenic. Gold is suitable for initial piercings as it is a nonreactive metal. If you have had a negative reaction from gold in the past it is likely because it was alloyed with nickel, unless you have a gold allergy which is very rare.
