Hey very happy to hear from you. Actually I am using pure pigments with acrylic binder. And with the acrylic paints I am using same amount of iridescent paint. So it is vibrant. Thanks. 🙂

@@FineArtDiary Wow, thankyou! I'm a complete newby, only painted walls/ceilings before. I'm starting Art therapy for my 8yr old who has a terminal heart condition. As I home school, I thought it better to teach him correct technique rather than just paper & poster paints🙃😅 Am I correct that you're using a binder like GAC800 or Pebeo bindex? Or are you using a heavy gloss gel. Sorry, I'm still learning all the terminology & all the different mediums. He's enjoying paint pouring & done 1 with moulding paste, which has sparked his imagination. I thought it might be fun mixing his own colours. So sorry for all the questions, but it rare for anyone to reply. I really do appreciate this! Kim

Hey Kim, thanks for the questions. I am happy to know that you have started art therapy and he is enjoying the process. Yes I am using gloss medium with my pigments. For one thing we should be careful that some pigments are toxic to be used by a child and should take proper precautions. Best wishes and prayers for the child. 🙂

What weight of raw canvas do you use? And is there a brand of paint and gesso that is your favorite? I tirelessly watch your videos. I am learning so much.

Thank you so much for writing to me. I use 10 Oz canvas. Regarding Gesso, I use any brand I get. The thing is, I make it thicker by mixing marble powder or thin it down by mixing water according to my need. Thanks.

You can use modeling paste to get same results. I am using gesso. Thanks.

I used Acrylic colors. That can be a good medium to start with. You also can start with basic watercolor or pastels.

Sure, I used Camlin Artist Acrylic Colors for this particular painting. Apart from that I also use Winsor & Newton, Liquitex and Pebeo brands.
