The timer should always be upstream from the pressure reducer . To make most timers work they rely on the 60+ - pounds of pressure to operate. When you reduce lower than 40 pounds it often creates problems, I think this video has a 25 pound reducer. It bothers me to see information that will decrease the chances of a gardeners success.

Hi I been working with drip irrigation for the past 10 years and on my experience is always convenient to re connect the 1/4 inch tecline. When is terminated with a plug it will loose pressure and or may not get any water to the end of the line but if you reconnect to the main 1/2” or bigger line the pressure will be more effective and more continuous.

@@stowesuz I currently live in souther California and we have a few store such as Site one and imperial sprinkler supply. Those metal "hold downs" are extremely dangerous for dogs and wildlife. If they get lose in the ground your dog can easily have an accident with them. I spent $800 at the veterinary and surgery to remove one from the leg of my dog. Recommend plastic hold downs instead! Thanks.

Great basic info about how to install the parts but what he didn’t talk about is water pressure and flow rate. In other words, there are limitations on how much tubing you can connect and how many emitters you can use. That gets rather complicated especially if you have a really big garden. Just saying.

Hello, using a faucet for the water supply is interesting....every irrigation supplier I have discussed this with says NO WAY, and advises PVC originating from the main coming into the house. Please reference a source so that I can learn more about this approach. I am planning a veggie garden consisting of 8 100’ rows, 4’ wide. The garden is 250’ from the house. Thank you much.
@pcofranc4 жыл бұрын
He is doing a small / tiny garden but for what you are talking about it makes more sense to use 3/4 or 1" PVC from the main to a master valve then branch off into sub-valves which to create as many zones as needed.
