I know it sounds crazy and people who haven’t been there don’t or won’t understand. I did 20 years and I’ve sat on the same federal bus (U.S. marshals) with those same cuffs on . I’ve been home for 4 years now and I still remind myself of what I went through in there. My first year home, I had a book of stamps in my wallet. Looked at it from time to time to remind myself what failure would mean for me.
