I enjoyed the discussion on dealing with moving project material in and out between the unheated shop and inside workbench. My shop is only heated while I’m out there. I plan to bring parts into my basement to cut and fit the dovetails. Tricky dealing with the changes in temperature and humidity.

get with destin from smartereveryday and use high speed camera and mirrors to film those skim cuts from the axis of the saw blade and definitively prove or disprove deflection on a table saw...?!? (57:00 ish) would be fun to see anyhow

On those smaller pieces I would think a plough plane or combo plane would be much easier and safer to cut a groove.

Benjamin Amirault true. Another annoyance of working out of two shops. My plow was at home. Plus, I only have a 1/4-in blade.

I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only woodworker who’s not enameled by routers and router tables. I see so many woodworkers who think a router is the best tool in their shop. I’m with Mike on this one. I use one when needed. Now that I have a block plane I’m using my router table even less. The chamfers from the block plane are great and much more enjoyable to make.
