These Finger-Paintings are from Colorado, Cape Cod, Maui and France.
Please come along for the journey! The entire painting is finger-painted except some signatures are done with a brush.
These video Slideshows of Paintings are from around the world. Here is a way to view my artwork with a musical background. Some works are grouped by subject such as Family Commissions or "Finger-Painted Impressionism." Other videos are chosen from geographic regions such as Maui, Provence, France or Cape Cod. As I continue I'll include - painting themes such as: Sunsets, Moonlight Art, Street Scenes, Waterfalls and Underwater paintings. I have collections such as Camden Maine, Colorado Mountains and Towns, Canada, Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard. I hope these videos bring you much joy!

Acrylic Painting Tips : "Keeping your paint WET" - lots of tips about this subject!
1.) Shade - stay out of the sun and wind somewhat. I use a beach umbrella most of the time using weights or rope to secure it to a couple of stable objects.
2.) Use slow-drying acrylics such as "Golden Open Acrylics" or "Slow-Dry Retardant mixed into the paints.
3.) Use a coverable palette and spray bottle of WATER to lightly mist paints in the mixing tray and palette and close periodically.
4.) Paint quickly and use larger sized brushes (I even suggest using a timer to help remember to work fluidly and not get lost too much in the details)
5) Indoors use a humidifier or two right next to you - Wow what a difference!
6) Paint in the Fog or mist! That is a dream! Need an umbrella usually.
7) Choose higher humidity/low wind times of day - (early or late/evening normally)
I hope this helps some!
8) Use medium/smaller canvases allows for quicker coverage and easier blending!
Helpful for Plein Air painting or studio painters using Acrylic or watercolor Paints
I am primarily a plein air painter creating canvases out in nature. I've used Acrylics as my primary medium for 30 years.
I love to teach and volunteer in schools around the world.
I give thanks for the gift I have been given and for the opportunity to share with you!
By the way most of the paintings in these collections are still available. Please feel free to reach-out for more info.
This creative expression has been my passion since 1975! I am really excited to share my artwork with you!
I love to teach and volunteer in schools around the world.
***If you see me out painting usually I have a blanket with drawing materials and various lessons to copy and learn from. Stop in and draw for a while!
I give thanks for the gift I have been given and for the opportunity to share with you!

Hi! So I have a school drawing I have to do. I know you've already done many videos on waves, but I need to color and outline it. Is it possible if you could do the very basic outline like with no shading and overlapping. Like overlapping to where it darkens color and stuff. My art project is due in a couple days and I'm lost! My wave isn't looking right and it's bothering me. Like it has 0 movement. It's all chunky and blocky. Even if you don't fo a vid can you explain the basics to me? Sorry about this!

Without seeing your work I'm challenged to comment and help. Maybe you can look on my website jimfreeheart.com where there are many paintings with crashing waves in color. Just look for one that you like and maybe zoom in on the close-up wave portion and there you'll have something to copy! I also have a sunset wave painting tutorial step by step for over an hour and a quick time-lapse of a crashing wave - all on KZbin! Finally, remember... I have painted thousands of waves so just know that over time your waves will get better and better! I hope this helps out some! Wishing you the best! Jim
