You miss a quite crucial part of changing the type of activity in the main class. If you don't change FlutterActivity to FlutterFragmentActivity this won't work and you'll have an exception, also you should change the Theme in the styles.xml. This is half backed video.

It works without changing FlutterActivity to FlutterFragmentActivity as long your plugin version is local_auth: ^0.4.0+1 It took me days to figure this out.
