A megacollab that made me proud of myself and others :handshake:
Alright lore time:
If y'all know Hechie, you do know the man is pretty much only a layout creator, so that was what Lumina was in early stages. Just another one of those "I found a banger song on NG, lets make a layout with it". And the layout ended up looking like congregation.
So at that time, I remember being on a VC with Hechie on GDPT, he showing me the layout and I being really out of inspiration for any of my projects so I asked him to give me the layout for me to attempt neo-design progression and copy paste mechanisms. And thats what I did. The only prompt I had was the level being dark until the drop and at the drop dramatically lighten up to almost white. In those first few hours I pretty much did a bunch of structures for the drop and the two drop backgrounds (the first one wasn't even remotely alike what it is now) and it went on like this for a week, I did a bit everyday and fast forward a week, I had two parts pretty much done (One which I remade completely, which is the first one) and then Hechie started talking about making it a megacollab.
And, I think y'all can imagine the hardest part for an unknown host was to find decorators for the level, but I think the layouts originality and simplicity + having something to show to others made the level stand out a lot and consequently a some people interested in helping. I remember being genuinely surprised when Varse joined. Props to Hechie for not being scared of asking people about it, you shouldn't be too.
The level also went from a wide variety of names, ranging from one inspired by a festival in Cascais, from all sorts of light related words. Ultimately, the level was named "Lumina"
If y'all are curious, the prompt right now for deco wasn't even written in the server. People have just been going on with whatever was already in the level and I believe due to the prompt and color scheme being so simple, all decorators did great and the level maintains a great level of cohesion. I already said it. If it doesnt get epic, its only because of the gameplay, because aside from that, is genuinely one of my favorite levels in the game.
I think that concludes it. Good job gentlemen, we made a banger :)
