I love Peggy and Amanda! They are so vibrant and genuine. I think your zipper sweater is gorgeous…you are right, you are just too close to it right now. I do agree that yarn choice really can make or break a project. The more you knit with different yarns, the more you get a feel for that.
@jacqueismakingАй бұрын
You’re so right, Peggy and Amanda are the best and I cannot wait to support them more. Genuine people can be rare to come by! I totally agree on my zipper sweater yarn, knitting is a life long learning process!

I finished the zipper light recently. The collar was FOREVER!!!! I used knit picks palette held double and it has the structure you are describing.
@jacqueismakingАй бұрын
Didn’t it take forever?!?!?! I think if I ever make this again I’ll do the Aran one!

I loved the zipper sweater, though it looked like so much work. At some point, I will knit one for myself. Great podcast!

I’m so glad you enjoyed the episode! It truly was a labor of love, I think if I were to make one again I would highly consider the Aran version, so perhaps consider that for a little less work, and more structure for the zip!

I made The Nightshift during summer so I cam wear it now 😅 and I am currently working on The Shift to give away as a Christmas gift. The patterns are amazing, really worth the work. Although at the end of The Nighshift I must say it DEFINITELY was a labour of love 😂 it was hard work.... but worth it.

So excited you've made both and love them!

For the Stripe Hype, I would do the light teal as the contrast on the collar (it'll make your eyes pop!), do the Navy on the sleeves (I think it'll contrast the teal nicely) and then the dark brown on the bottom hem!

I started the night shift cowl during the summer with a non-color changing yarn. I should pull it back out and finish it! Right now crochet has kind of taken over for me as I’m working on the free Gingerbread CAL from sirdar

I’m in the process of knitting the Zipper Sweater for my husband. I’m a tight knitter so am making the second largest size but after spending hours working on it I find the sleeves are way too large 😢 I’m now deciding what to do ! I do understand everything you were referring too ! Loving your podcast 👏🍂

Oh no, I hope your sleeve solution is quick! Thank you so much and best of luck!

Hi Jacque -- I love your podcast. You're so bright and cheerful. Thank you for sharing your beautiful knitting and bringing a smile to my day. Quick question -- do you know what the sweater pattern is called that the fiber mill ladies held up? The one with knit on one side and purl on the other. I've been searching all over for it, but I can't find it anywhere. Thanks! [Update: I just found it; it's called the Vintage Flannel and is found in a Laine publication.]
@jacqueismakingАй бұрын
Hi Jill! Thank you so much for your kind words, that brought a huge smile to my face this afternoon. I’m so glad you found that pattern, isn’t it so cute?! I think that would be so fun to make and wear, as knitters! All my best.

Love your zipper sweater and just about to start mine in the light version too. However wanted to do in a tweed to hide any irregularities I might encounter in putting in the zipper which is a little daunting. Using City Tweed DK in Morning Glory color - a wool/alpaca blend although wanted 100% wool but could not find a tweed that I liked. I know its going to be a lot of knitting! also have the traveler hoodie in my queue. But instead of the hoodie - saw that someone modified it to a funnel neck with a tie which will be my version.

I am so excited you are making the Zipper Sweater Light with tweed, it sounds gorgeous! also, wow, what a great idea for the traveler, that’s on my list too!

I like the idea of the bundles, but wonder if they could make one with what most people call the “jewel” colors? (Emerald, ruby, sapphire, etc.) The bundles that they have for the shift seem to be on the lighter side while the colors Andrea uses for her patterns seem deeper and more saturated.
@jacqueismakingАй бұрын
This is good feedback! I do think the colors work up a lot richer than they appear on screen, but yes, these are the current colorways they have.

I’m also knitting the Zipper Sweater light. Where did you purchase the zipper? I have just split for sleeves so I haven’t looked much, but did send a message to petite knit who said they did not have a vendor in the US. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I enjoy your podcast.
@jacqueismakingАй бұрын
So fun you’re making it too! I would look on Amazon, I had some zipper tape I used (I make a lot of bags) but I would recommend a true garment zipper instead.

I used my first winnings to buy a canvas LV and in less than two years the wallet was cracked/broken in multiple places and the store refused to repair or replace it. I don't know what kind of resale value such junk could have. I ended up donating it...well, maybe I might buy a fake LV from kislux but these designers/robber barons don't even think about taking another penny from me.

i really like the look of the zipper sweater in the yarn you chose, but it does have more of a cozy comfort feel than a tailored garment feel. i think sometimes it's not that you don't like the finished product, but if it doesn't align with the expectations you had in mind when starting out, it can feel a little disappointing. nevertheless, it is a beautiful sweater and looks very comfortable.
