Finishing and Filtering Maple Syrup

Showing how I check to make sure the sugar content is correct and filtering the syrup for the last time before canning it.

Kirsten Wise good idea, thanks! Here is the main filter, from Bascom’s www.bascommaple.com/item/fsyn8/filter_cone/ I use two or three prefilters each time. Those come in a package of 12 I think and are on the same website. Usually I rinse the prefilters and reuse them once. After the second time I pitch the prefilters as they aren’t very expensive. Hope that helps!

Nice. You can filter at 219 with no issues. It’s best to do that.
