Your attention to detail is amazing. That studding and trim really does add so much dimension to the outfit. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product come comicon. Wow. What an amazing costume! Prayers for Lion ❤

I think the performer you showed at 8:37 is Keri Rene Fuller, she became first cast Jane Seymour on Broadway after Abby Mueller left and this woman is super tiny but her voice is unbelievable! And of course you are doing six tabs I mean it´s in the shows name...six!

I don't know if this is helpful for the shoes, but it's a cosplay hack I saw Rachel Maksy use for studs -- the googly eyes you can get at a craft store but painted metallic or whatever you need them to be. It's obviously not metal but if it's small and on shoes and you use a good enough glue and a good metallic paint you might not know the difference!

Not what you are talking about but I really love your shirt/dress the pattern is so pretty (in the beginning of the video) ❤

When you add studs to the shoes, plan so that those zippers can be opened. They could be useful in getting the shoes on and off, or to give you space when your feet start hurting.

I watched this week's video while cutting a pink cashmere coat. Thanks for providing me entertainment and motivation to get it started. ❤❤❤

when we attach crystals to Irish dance dresses, we use E6000 glue... so it works well to keep hard decorations on fabric if that will help with your shoes or anything.

So much dedication. The results will be amazing. I’m completely sure of that. Way in the future when you’re at Comic-Con throw in some pictures of this costume for the few of us that don’t have any other social media please.

That concave fabric is a brilliant alternative to having to rhinestone everything! Looks great, what a find!

You could use those half pearls to make studs painted to match as well. They won't make noise and come in different sizes.

I don't do Instagram & I'm hoping you'll do some kind of video update on this, even if it's just a short as a reveal. It looks awesome so far and I wish I could see the finished look, Lady Rebecca!

Have you looked at Rhinestone Guy for flat back studs? I use RSG for Irish dance crystals, and quite like their quality. 💜

I hadn't heard of him, but just checked the website, and I'm not seeing studs there at all.

Okay, I already typed this once but then forgot to click Comment. Doh!! Anyway. In 1983 I worked in the Costume Shop at the Oklahoma Summer Theatre Festival. They've since changed the name to the Oklahoma Shakespeare Festival. One of the shows we did was the Scottish Play (yes, I'm superstitious) and the director's vision was to have all the men in caveman style bodysuits. All the different body types for the men made fitting them... erm.... interesting. So the leading man's costume needed tons of studs of various sizes. So the head of the shop got waxed paper (though parchment paper would be better) a few hot glue guns, and had us make round puddles of hot glue on the paper. After they all cooled we then spray painted with a bronze paint. And after they all dried, we removed them from the paper and attached them to the costume. We needed dull, aged studs so they probably took some black paint and aged them. If they'd wanted shiny studs we would have used a glossy paint or a clear gloss paint to make them shiny. I know you won't be able to use this for the Jane costume, but the next time you need studs for a costume, you now have an alternative.

Hi there. I love your videos. I have a question. How do you apply the grommets? Do you use a grommet press or a hand gadget? How do you cut the holes? Thank you 💕👍
@LadyRebeccaFashions2 ай бұрын
I use an awl to make my holes instead of cutting, and then I have the kind of setter you use a mallet on. I believe I showed it in detail in my hobbit costume vlog from earlier this year.

Are you using Chicago screw studs? At least they won’t be hard on your skin inside, shoes and skirt x
@LadyRebeccaFashions2 ай бұрын
I hadn't heard of those. Maybe that would be a better option for the shoes.

You've probably already considered this but could you contact one of the wardrobe departments of one of the productions and ask them how they do some of the trickier parts of the design and what products they might recommend? This isn't like researching something that was created 100 years ago, people are creating and adapting these designs right now.

They actually do use individual studs set on grosgrain ribbon, though they have stud press machines (like the $200+ ones). And they send their La Duca shoes out to have individually set rhinestones put on.

I don't envy you the studs. Good luck with them. Otherwise the outfit looks amazing.

I'm not sure. They look like brads to me - do they still in pretty permanently?
