Great job, thoroughly enjoyed your restoration process and how patient and detailed you were about getting it right. I’m 79 now but as a teenager I worked on a small dairy farm full time and drove two B’s like this one for hundreds of hours. Never lost my love for the John Deere B. Again thanks for the videos.

I’ve spent many hours in the seat of a JD B when I was younger. Mine was not a fancy styled version like yours. We had a flywheel to turn by hand to start the engine. But even with the hours driving, I didn’t learn half of what you needed to know to complete your restoration. My hat’s off to you. 👍

@@thesmallenginekid It looks like you got great views on the first Farmall video. I think Kurtis is correct. You should turn out a complete series on that tractor with lots of complete videos. I know it's a ton of work, but I think it will really grow your channel. This is some of the best work I have seen on KZbin, ever! You are an outstanding young man. Great vid Andrew. It was fun seeing the old footage of the rescue. The tractor kept getting younger in the vid, an someone else was getting older an smarter.🤘 Seeing all three of them at the parade was cool. I luv the lil M of your dad's. I didn't realize how cute and small they are until I saw you load it in that lil trailer.👍👍

Great job. If you run that in a couple tractor pulls, don’t forget to add a whole lot of weight to the front end; I’d say, 400 lbs should do it; that should keep that front end from lifting skyward.

Wonder finding an ol JD plow for the B then pull that behind the B in a parade and maybe try some plowing event. Haven’t seen many posting in my area about one but I remember they tried having an antique tractor plowing event proceeds to help future farmers.

Little concerned about locktite on the piston rod bolts.My dad bought a B where previous owner did something similar.. the nuts released and rod came out of crankcase cover. We bought the tractor cheap and put a replacement engine in. I have seen where wire was used on the castle nuts. You still need to drill a hole in the bolts.

Squatch253 does ultra-detailed work on Cat crawlers, prototype Minneapolis Moline crawler and tractor, and currently working on a Farmall “Preparation H” rebuild. This Andrew is more like Squatch253 than Andrew Camarata because he doesn’t (hasn’t) used a chain saw to put a new radio in his truck dash.😂

I get a lot of used parts on ebay. But that can be hit or miss. If your fine with shelling out some cash you can get a rebuilt one from Steiner or Brillman or I could sell you a rebuilt DLTX 67, which fits a JD B, for 300$ plus $100 core charge.

Dang, most of the John Deere B's I've seen had a crank flywheel start and pet-cocks that you opened to start the tractor.That electric start version doesn't seem very realistic. You should have gotten an older version. Also, I think most batteries in that era were 6 volts, not 12 volts.
@thesmallenginekid
@thesmallenginekid Жыл бұрын
I am looking for an early model B! I have a 1940 hand start H. Early B's are unstyled and hand start, mid-year B's are styled with the battery in the hood or no battery on hand start models, late B's are styled with the battery under the seat. A 12v battery will turn a 6v starter and turn it faster than 6V. Over time the starter will wear out faster on 12v than 6v. And with a 12V battery you need to put a resister before the coil if it is a 6v coil. On this B I swapped the generator/voltage regulator with a simple 12v single wire alternator.
